Why only a PSA 4 on the Rock?

that card looks really nice. just looks like a soft corner on the bottom right

If you look under the U you will see a surface issue. It is not a full blown crease but it runs down most of the card. It affects the back to at the perforation. The card presents great and is really more of a technical issue like a wrinkle which hurts the grade significantly.

The bottom corner is more of a perforation issue then a truly damaged corner.

I just don't see a large number of these cards ever grading high. It is such a condition sensitive set and the Dwayne Johnson card is impacted by being one of the cards that is impacted by the sheets being folded in half. The distribution method combined with the card stock is the perfect storm for card damage.

I'm noticing this UM bumble bee card set go for less nowadays on eBay. Possible all those collecting and willing to pay for the rare set already have this Dwayne Johnson football RC?

However, there is only a few top quality ones. Think there are more?

I think at one time, most or all sheet were owned by the same dealer who had quite a quantity of them. I don't know if that is the case now.

I think more people listing the card/sheet hoping to profit off the recent high prices.

Buying a sheet to get the Dwayne Johnson graded is a risk. So maybe collectors are holding out to purchase high-graded examples, instead of raw cards.

No. I bought the BGS 9.5 for $1,000 last year.

The bid doesn't include the buyers premium so it is over $1,500.

I don't think the current bid is shocking at all.

Thats crazy, I don't know what category this falls under, he is famous for being a wrestler but the card itself is a football card. Still the most expensive wrestling card I have seen sell at auction is the British Bulldogs WCW topps auto which was over 4K i believe. This has the potential of beating that card.

The 1982 Wrestling All Stars Hulk Hogan if it ever surfaces in a PSA 10 will be the most expensive. I know of two dealers who have been on the record saying they have a buyer at 10k.

You need the edge perforations to get the best grade.

On any peforated card you must have the perforations. It can not be trimmed at all to recieve a numerical grade.

Very nice.

Looks like the lack of perforations on the bottom edge probably bumped it to a 9.
