Default Looking for wrestling box for my son

We went to a smaller smackdown in NC a few months ago. Sat in the 2nd row. He got a pat on the head from Randy Orton which was cool. I have to say I enjoyed it also.
He is addicted to it and would like to get him started on collecting. He loves John Cena and Sin Cara the best. I have never bought a box of wrestling and was wondering what box you guys would suggest getting him to get started on a collection. I realize he will most likely play with the cards mostly so they will not be for value so much. Although any autograph or relic or valuable card I will put in a case for him.
Let me know some ideas to get him started.

How about a WWE 2013 retail blaster from Wal-Mart/Target/etc? Cheaper than a hobby box, he'd get plenty of base cards to play with, a few nice inserts and maybe a relic.

Like the member stated above, your best bet would be a blaster box. I would go with WWE Topps 2012, or WWE Topps 2013 Triple Threat. This will give you a chance at the current superstars/divas. These years also guarantee you a relic in each box for about $19.99.

I would actually spend a a few more bucks and pick up a hobby box of Topps 2010, 2011, 2012, or the new 2013 Triple Threat! Good luck on your hunt and good luck to your son on his first wrestling rip!

Why not get your son one of the newer sets? You can find them priced fairly inexpensive

here's a couple examples:

2012 Topps WWE Base Set 1 90 Cena Rock AJ Zack Ryder Lesnar Eve Kelly Ryback | eBay

WWE 2012 Heritage Base Card Set 1 110 | eBay

Thanks for all the responses. I found a 2011 WWE champions box for $25 shipped on ebay. Looks like it has some cool cards for a kid. 1 auto every case so chances are slim of that. I really want him to be able to rip open some packs. I absolutely loved it when I was a kid.

If pack ripping is your thing then I suggest a blaster especially if he's likely to play with the cards. Not only is it the current flavor of wrestling it's inexpensive.

For the money though I believe it's very hard to beat the 2013 TNA hobby box. Just bought another one because the price point is the best imo. $82 delivered for the box that always have 3 autographs and 1 relic and a base set included with a chance for a Sting or Hogan auto
