Default Vintage 1980s wrestling stickers

Bidding is insane, but rarity justifies it.

I have these on my watch list.

What is the story behind these? There was a Lex Luger that hit EBAY a few weeks ago and did well. I sent you an email to see if you knew anything and I am not sure if you got it.

I have an email in to PSA right now to see if they will grade them. I am not sure if I will hear back in time.

The Dusty and Superstar Graham is super cool and is from one of their legendary bull rope matches in Madison Square Garden. Awesome!

Yep, the Dusty vs. Billy Graham one is awesome. Someone else as a "Rotundo's" Airplane spin one listed, but it doesn't look a) like Mike Rotunda and b) like the Jewel Prisms.

What do these things usually go for? Some of the bidding is insane.

PSA definitely grades the basketball ones

Yes they do grade the basketball ones.

1985 Wmmc Awa Wrestlers Prism Stickers

I got these two graded and they were easy for PSA to identify. I am not so sure on these.

A couple of the ones listed have the 1985 wmmc copyright on them, several do not--wonder what issue these come from and how they would be identified by PSA

I do see that on the Jimmy Garvin and I just checked and it is clearly a different one then the sticker from the 1985 AWA set.

What is interesting is the selection of wrestlers. You have NWA, AWA, WCCW, and WWF stars represented.

I think there is a high likelihood that many of these were produced in 1986 or later.

Rick Martel could not have faced Don Muracco until then and Lex Luger debuted in Florida in September of 1985 and really did not get noticed until December of that year and it is doubtful he would have been featured with top stars at that point.

Plus, Luger is spelled "Lugar"

I won't be surprised if these go for over 100 each. They are very rare and these are in great condition. Think about how many kids stuck these on their binders for school or got in trouble and their parents threw them away. Maybe some vendor has a case of a thousand sitting in a storage room somewhere.

Sorry, I didn't get your email.

I have all other wrestling vending wrestling series checklisted, but I've only seen a few of these previously. I would guess made by the same company that made the basketball prism stickers, but that is only a guess.

As for PSA, I don't know if they will grade them. I tend to doubt they will accept them, unless some other info can come to light, such as a vending backboard or some type of literature puduced by the company that made them. They might just be too obscure of an item for PSA to identify.

Kerry Von Erich vs Chris Adams should be Mid-South or WCCW promotions.

The Garvin and Precious sticker is definately part of the PSA (WMMC AWA) gradable set (shown below).

I'm still not sure about the others listed (same company?!?). The key design feature is the black text box. And they don't seem to be limited to a single promotion, like the AWA set. I would guess produced 1985 or 1986.

That's from WCCW. I saw these tonight, the prices were CRAZY! I almost bit on the Stan Hansen vs Sgt Slaughter. What i really wonder is who is pushing these prices up on them?

Prices have jumped on these a lot in the last year.... they need to be able to be graded to sustain over the haul and long term potential.....I don't necessarily see them going down due to scarcity but for them to attain their full potential they need to be slabbed....

You are mistaken. They definitely won't grade anything. One of the the pros to submitting to BGS is they are much more willing to grade odd ball stuff like this with limited information.

I did a quick search last night and did not see it on your sight and that is what caused confusion my part. I thought I remembered Garvin was featured on two stickers but didn't see it in the pic. This seller also sold a few of the other stickers from the set a few weeks ago with the first Lex Luger he auctioned off.

I think they are definitely two different sets as this one is only AWA performers.

If PSA gets back to me today I will share the info.

The reason they were able to grade the stickers from this set is there is a checklist and a copyright on them to indicate who made them.

The one's in question have no brand information which could be a problem.

Regardless they are super cool. I have been checking EBAY everyday for wrestling items since late 2009 and this is the first time I have seen most of these.

They are definately 2 different sets. I don't think this one is AWA like the other.

I still need to list. I've only seen a few of these in the past.

There were lots of Prism vending sets in the 1980's, and most are so obscure no one really knows about many of them. There was even a "tough guys" set that included Mike Tyson, Chuck Norris, and Mr. T.

These are continuing to move higher.

Good luck to anyone who is bidding. This should be interesting to watch the final hours.

I request that all posters who win some of these please acknowledge so after the auctions--I want to applaud your purchase and be jealous of you

Seriously though, I know some of us on here will win a few of these, would like to know who gets what (especially the Rhodes/Graham).

Not much time left. I'm done bidding, and not high bidder on any of them.

Hope PSA will grade these for those who are going to try to get them graded.

Here is a picture of the stickers. Vending sets almost always have 12 or 15 sticker cards, so there could be others in the set.
