Nice batch of cards you sent in. The Brad Rheingans are very tough.

Overall it looks like you did just fine.

Any cards in particular that got you really excited?

The 82 Wrestling Allstars Greg Valentine PSA 10! It's my 1st self submitted Wrestling All Stars PSA 10. I really feel like i'm getting better choosing the cards i submit, The first few submissions i sent in, i got horrible grades on cards where i didn't see the flaws. This time i got a lot of 9's. I really wish the PSA 9 Ray Stevens didn't have a qualifier, I really didn't think it was off centered. I'm excited about the psa 10 Wonderama Sting, The PSA 9 Swanson Road Warriors card, I think i did ok on the WWF Market Scene cards i sent in as they are REALLY tough.

Other then the fist cards I sent to PSA which were as pack fresh as Wrestling All Stars can be I have only gotten a few self subbed 10's from the set.

If you had hit a straight 9 on the Ray Stevens I would have had a heart attack! If you get the cards back and make a scan I would be curious to see it.

The Sting card is a tough one due to centering and a print dot that is on almost everyone of those. I think having a 10 from the set of him is a real keeper.

You obviously know who some of the tougher cards are from the set and Buck Zom Hoffe is a good one although the guy is an absolute sicko and is heading to prison. I didn't add it up but you hit a good number of 9's on the 82B which is great. There just isn't the sealed product out there to generate super high quality cards. I have opened a few sealed sets and they are wrapped so tight that many of the corners are damaged even if they look good other wise.

The Market Scene set is a fascinating one for sure. I have never seen modern cards more beat up. Many of the sharper cards have serious surface issues on the front and the cards wrinkle easy. I got one in the mail tonight that had a wrinkle that couldn't be seen from the scan. I have to assume some of your lower grades on the All Stars had an issue such as this. I am not certain the Market Scene set has the product available for us to chase them but time will tell. Naturally most collectors want to see high grades and I don't see there being an abundance of cards grading high from the sets. The other issue is the star power of the set.

It is always a rush when the cards pop and nice to see you hit some strong cards. Thanks for sharing the results.

Thanks for sharing Brokensoul, it was a lot of fun to see the cards you subbed and your Hansen was not as bad as I thought it was (1981 Popy).

WOW you nailed the #194 Sting card in a 10!!! Nice! The first one to hit EBAY sold for $600 so that is a nice score right there.

I am working on a site dedicated to the Wrestling All Stars cards.

I plan to post updates as they come. The site so far is as basic as it can get and will look much different over time.

I think this is a great idea. There are a lot of people who want to know more about wrestling cards and more specifically, the 82/83 All Star sets. What outlet are you using to build the site?

I purchased the domain name, site building templates and hosting from Go Daddy. I spent a little time on it yesterday but will be getting some help from a friend and perhaps hiring someone if what he can do isn't satisfactory.

I am not a very tech savvy guy and I just wanted to get something on there and make it go live.

It will look much different overtime.

You are the undisputed champ of the All Stars, cool idea with the site. I look forward to checking it out in the future to see what it becomes, you already have a pretty decent start.

Great idea. I like the idea of showing the magazine covers that match the photos.

Would be neat to have an information page for each separate card.

I plan to add as much info as a I can with specifics about each card if possible.

Over the coming months I will be buying more of the magazines to add the pics used for the cards.

I picked up three in the past few days and want to get as many as I can. It will also give a better idea when the photo was taken.

Some are from the early 70's.

I love it! Two good dudes going at it toe-to-toe in a great friendly competition and DPeck has been the man, but Brokensoul is relentless.....I'll have my popcorn ready and will congratulate the winner!

Of course I have seen the pop reports. I check them daily.

Quite frankly I have been checking the 1983 Registry list a few times a day since they hit.

I assumed they would be in your set already.

That sounds like one hell of a tough steel cage match.

Here is the picture used for the Ricky Steamboat card.

This was a great find from April of 1983 in the Louisiana Superdome. An order form with Killer Kahn and the photo used for the Kerry Von Erich card.

I am going to continue to add some of the finds to this thread regardless of the set they came from.

Here is the photo from 1979 used for the Ted Dibiase card. Many of the stock photos were used for years after.

This is another great find. I already have an order form with Dusty on it and it features an action shot of Paul Orndorf so this is another version which is very cool.

I can't imagine only spending $5.00 for a sealed All Star set lol. I wonder what happened to the sets they didn't sell? I wonder if someone that worked for them has a box full of sets sitting in his attic? We may never know. The odds of a vintage baseball card find is higher than a huge wrestling card find because people don't see wrestling cards as something of great value, and thats why it is crazy hard to find these All Star cards in super high grade. We may never see a PSA 10 Andre and Hogan.

I think at one time (late 1990's?) the owner sold their remaining inventory to Wrestle Prints (correct me if I'm wrong), who sold the sets, and later singles, on their website.
