I thank God the first set wasn't so highly anticipated and talked about or I wouldn't have been able to nab even a quarter of the stuff I did last time around. This is gonna be an exciting release for sure.

I kind of feel like the 1st release flew under the radar a bit, at least my radar. This 2nd series will most likely be 2 kinds of buyers, people who buy cases than rip and flip them. And you will have people who buy cases and hoard the cards. I will probably be a case buy and keep only the ones I want.

I really don't think the first series flew under the radar. It was pushed back for so long. Everyone seemed to know about it. I think this set will be bigger but I can't say the first stuff flew under the radar, it had much less anticipated signers and terrible artwork that turned some people off.

Idk for sure. I personally had never heard of them and then one day I was looking to see what Heenan autos were going for and was shocked and nabbed a base for $6.12 or something like that. I got addicted quick. I don't know how many more there are like me, but personally I didn't even know about the forum until this set came out. The way I found this forum was trying to find an SP list on the Originals set. I personally will never bash the artwork on the first set (even though I would redo Kevin nash's nose on the base) because it was done the way it was by design. To look like the 1948 Leaf Originals and the concept was very successful. The set was a very successful release for Leaf despite a lot of bashers on here, me myself being one at times. I still have major issues that I will just leave alone for the moment that I have never got an answer on, but anyways. The new artwork looks amazing and the next release is going to be huge. I personally can't wait for the initial market flood when these cards first hit. I saw there are individual Ax and Smash cards, praying there is also a dual Demolition, and I saw Booker T and Stevie Ray, can't wait to nab a Harlem Heat dual if available. The duals, the realistic artwork, this set is going to be fantastic.

I just ran across my receipt from the first release and I paid $860 for a case. Mine was a preorder about 6 weeks before the original release date, so I believe the prices climbed a bit from there. I think many cases sold in the $900 to $950 range.

I love this set but that was a huge blow to the credibility. Sucks even more so because I would have loved to see Scott Hall as a returning signer but the chances of that are slim to none after being accused of theft. Still, I'll be putting together the new release to go with my 2012 set.

I guess we'll see. Either way, unless they want to finally set the record straight they sure aren't going to get any of my money - which sucks because your artwork is amazing on this set.

Maybe Leaf could include all the Scott Hall cards that they said would be "returned" to them from American Icons...

THIS in spades.

The artwork is what turned this set to crap. If the effort in series 2 went into series 1, series 1 would have been the greatest wrestling set of all time.

i stayed away bc of all the stories of there being more then one 1/1 and that ppl with the company were selling others, and that even the wrestlers kept some to sell. the entire print run of the first set is truly unknown and will never know its true value bc of that. makes me not even wanna bother picking any of the new ones up.

The legends deals should not make a difference with them signing the Leaf cards. Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair both have WWE legends deals and they already signed their cards.
