Exclamation 2014 Panini World Cup PRIZM

There is a brief mention of this upcoming soccer World Cup product in the following Beckett link. Beckett News » Companies reveal plans at GTS Distribution Open House

Quote:
2014 World Cup Prizm

This will be a worldwide product. Each continent will get its own Prizm-colored borders.

Autographs in this product include Pele, Lionel Messi and David Beckham. It is due out in June.
First a high-end Premier League product and now this Prizm World Cup product with Pelé and Messi autos!

Yes Panini has the FIFA World Cup trading cards license since the 1998 WC I believe.

Looking around at the Prizm in other sports I noticed there seem to be no memorabilia/relics cards in any of them?

I hope Panini find a place for relics in their soccer product since unlike other sports relic cards are actually rare in soccer. Players like Bale, Neymar, Ribery, Rooney and van Persie don't even have any real relic cards.

Love the idea of the different colored Prizm's for around the world. Those will be a lot of fun to chase. I would expect it to be like the other Prizm products (if not a bit higher) with 2 autographs per box plus Prizms. Don't think we'll see memorabilia in them.

PRIZM from other sports usually didn't have any memorabilia ... I love the idea but they are probably going to be all Sticker autos which the bigger names being SSP (25 or less).

Going to be tough to bust a ton but like the idea.

Haha, I hope Panini don't get any bright ideas about this.

It's one thing to put women's soccer autographs in an MLS set but another entirely in a World Cup product.

Since it looks like they are really marketing this world wide I would hope they know they can get enough buyers that they don't need to gimmick it up. If they want to do a women's world cup product out they can do that. But really just hope they stick to what it should be.

Who knows, no checklist is out so far. Ronaldinho would be awesome though.

All we know so far is that Messi, Pelé and Beckham will have autos.
