Default Any info on the Nature Boy Buddy Rogers Card?

Bought it for cheap enough that I thought it was worth the gamble. Came with a wrestling program from 1953 from Ohio. It has a weird glossy finish for a 1950's card with no info or copyright on the back but my only guess was an Al Haft promotions card from the 1950's (though I could find no image online only a checklist). Any guesses?

It is an Al Haft Promotions card. The cards were issued 16 cards to a sheet as part of a calendar poster used to promote events.

From the auction:

Here's an image of an uncut sheet of 16 cards:

Thanks. Any idea on the exact copyright date? This came with a program from 1953 so it would appear to pre date the Parkhurst card anyway. Is it fairly rare? Haven't seen one before but then again wasn't looking for one.

Exact copyright date is unknown. I don't think the calendar specified a year.

Any way to varify the the card actually came with the mailer?

Well I'll look and see if there's anything in the mailer that mentions a card or cards. The mailer and card came with a hand written thank you note on "Professor" Roy Shire letterhead so I have a feeling it has some connection with the mailer.

Well nothing in the program/mailer other than there is an article from Al Haft in it. I have to assume the card and the mailer were connected in some way given that it apparently came from a former pro wrestler's collection. Were there a lot of these? I still think it's a cool card for 20 bucks even though it's condition is probably only a 4 or 5.

As a regional issue, the cards are very tough to find. I've checklisted 38 of the cards, but there could be a few more, given that the uncut sheets contained 16 cards. Early 1950's seems correct. I would guess they pre-date the Parkhurst set, but haven't been able to varify that.
