Default Sportkings Vault release

Any thoughts on this product? I have not seen a box/case break, but a few cards are listed on Ebay. Seems to be a good opportunity to fill the gaps in some cards from series A-D that are hard to find these days. they will have the "Vault" stamp and hand numbered though.

There is a case break here.

Sportkings Vault 10 Box Case

Looks like they are unloading inventory with no structure to any of it. Makes no difference if the cards are gold or silver version, it is all numbered at random. Looks like since they had 46 Troy Aikman Silver Memorabilia stocked in inventory, they just made a series to 46cards. Hand-numbered them and placed the 'vault' stamp.

I found this product looking for my PC player and was fortunate to find a 1/1 silver version of the player and bought it. It just so happens I was missing the silver version of this particular card in my collection. I'm glad I have it as a 1/1, but it is no replacement for the 2010 version. Once I find that version I will buy that one too.

I am happy with the purchase because it was hand numbered 1/1. If it was #/20 or #/40 I do not know if I would have purchased it. Another point is look at say a 2/2 Gold autograph. People collected gold autographs thinking there were only 10 of them...well it looks like now there are 12, two of them hand numbered to two with a vault stamp.

I'm fine with Sportkings dumping their unsold product, but I don't care for the cards "Vault" stamps...

At least with the Vault stamps, people can't complain that a card was with a stated print run, say a 1/1, (see the Gold Patch Paul Molitor on Ebay) that now there is an identical 1/1 card

Because all print runs for Sportkings are announced, they need to make them different before releasing cards above the stated print run.

Just had confirmation that there won't be an official checklist.

I assume that to mean there will NOT be any HUGE hits, some nice stuff, but not a big winner nor loser.

I busted 2 cases. Never busted SK when it was new but thought this was good value. Did well with the ITG's Superlative Vault and Ultimate Vault hockey releases, which were similar excess inventory repackage products.

Among the biggest hits here were a Dan Marino jersey auto hand numbered 1/1, a Michael Jordan/Wilt Chamberlain/Olajuwon/Barkley/David Robinson 5-way jersey card hand numbered 2/4, and a few hand numbered 1/1 autos from the likes of Tony Gwynn, Bret Hart, and Jean Beliveau. The Gwynn already sold for $75. Probably some other big ones I forgot about. They are all up on my eBay.

I can see how new hand numbering will cause craziness for SK collectors. Some silver cards in original releases as low as 1/1.

When a best offer is accepted, how can you tell on Ebay the actual sell price?
