Tiger Woods out for rest of season

Golf channel is reporting that Tiger Woods needs another surgery on knee and it will keep him out the rest of the golf season.

Definitely came back too soon! The latest surgery was by far the most invasive of the three that Tiger has had. Talk to any orthopedic surgeon, they'll tell you that lengthy walking isn't advised after such a short recovery period, let alone walking 18 holes five days in a row and putting such force on a weakened knee with the way Tiger swings. That's a shame if it's true.

Guess that kills my pre-season bet in Vegas. I got 8-1 odds that Tiger would win three majors.

Yep CNN is now reporting it. There was an interview on the Golfchannel.com after he won the Open. He enluded to the fact he played against doctors orders and would have to have the knee re-evaluated. If the docs tell you not to play don't play. I admire the fact he pushed through the pain and won the thing...even though he was playing against a hump. Now the rest of his season is over.

why not.. Did you not watch Rocco play this weekend. He is the one who made that watchable. He didn't piss down his leg like all the other guys when they play against tigger...

That is true, but unlike Tiger, every other golfer is so inconsistent. There isn't one other person that is both fun to watch and always towards the top. I will watch the major tourneys as I typically would, but probably not with the same desire.

I've always wanted to go to the Buick Open in Michigan but I want to see Tiger and it's too big of risk to get advance tickets. Still want to go watch it some day.

These injuries will follow Tiger for the rest of his career. It's just the way he plays - when you swing that hard and are that intense all the time, these things happen. He'll likely start only playing 8-10 tourneys each year.

I'm guessing the sponsors of the remaining tournaments he was going to play in this year are not too happy this morning.
