I've gotten pretty good at assessing the cards myself with a magnifying glass before sending them...

Got a scan? Sounds like a cutting issue to me...not aware of any intentionally "wider" cards from UD. And I have several of the 2013 Star Rookies and none are noticeably wider than any others.
