Default Brad Utterstrom's art thread

I am primarily a sports sketch card artist, however I've done a handful of non-sports sets as well (most of which haven't been released yet) and will be doing more in the future.

Here are a few samples:

Walking Dead season 3 sketch cards. I snuck a self-portrait in there in the bottom right:

Do you use the likeness of real people you know on all the walker cards? I feel like it's you and all your zombie friends!

yup that's exactly what I did. I'm the bottom right, my fiancee right next to me...she's mad because it's the only drawing I've ever done of her and I made her into a zombie, haha

The others are all friends or family. I had so much fun with this set I wish I had 20 more walkers to draw because a lot of my friends knew what I was doing and wanted to have theirs done, but I only had room for a few.

They are awesome! They just really look like actual people. Some are just more of a generic zombie shape(whatever that is) lol. These have nice likenesses to them! I bet it made it more fun! You can do them for Christmas presents for all your friends! Seems like something a lot of people would be interested in commissioning as well! That would be a cool psc. I mean look how many bajillion people use the dead yourself app! Lol

Oh and you probs gotta be real careful of actual drawings your fiancé! Lol. I can see people freaking out if you don't make them look the way they think they should!

I once commissioned what was supposed to be a likeness of me as a zombie for a Walking Dead comic book cover. Needless to say, I should have commissioned Brad for that job. The cover is not bad, it just doesn't resemble me at all.

Thing ya have to be careful with portraits is the ratio of the pics you use for ref. if you don't have the right ratio and print out ref the pic looks right but your drawing will look off.
Those look great Brad. The Abbey ones are real nice.

Lol, yea depends on the artist and their ability to capture likenesses! I guess I don't know what brads people look like, but considering his other sketches I'd assume they are pretty on point! Lol.

I do love on the one of you, how you made it look like the fingers were pressed against glass smearing the blood.

Some new work. First, a few PSCs:

I shot the grayscale Dex right before I started adding the color, so it's just a WIP.

Also, I have just a few Grimm 5x7"s for SDCC. I also did some standard sized Grimm cards, those will come out in the Grimm season 2 set so I'll post those later. For now, here are the 5x7"s:
