Suggestions for Blowout

Not sure if this will get removed or not, however this thread is to hopefully make (or keep) blowout forums the best of what is out there. Ive recently joined other forums, and still use BO the most, but found things I like elsewhere. Post what you think BO does good and what you think they could improve on.

1. I think the web design is great. The website is easy to navigate and also inviting. There is not a lot of clutter which I like.

2. Have a section to upload all your photos of cards that are labeled by player, brand, year, etc. Give users the ability to browse through cards with a link to whos card it is. Something like photobucket, but just for BO users use.

Number 2 would be a great idea! I think it would be tough to do though

They would not have the hardware or funding to implement such a feature. It would take lots more memory, which translates into lots more money. For a site that runs no advertisements but there own and the product they sell, it would not be feasible.

Be able to click on photobucket links on people's signatures rather than copy and pasting them, or be able to put small size pics in our sigs rather than......

hardware or funding? all you need is a script for the board. wouldn't cost much more if any at all, not sure what type of hosting plan they currently have. it would be cheap though.

all they would really need to do is add plugs to the current board. the thing that sucks about that is, you kinda need someone that's savy with web design/boards/scripts on hand because databases like that tend to error alot and get hacked.

No, No, No to the pictures in sigs. It kills FCB by having that, have to have sigs turned off to view the threads. That's what your avatar is for.

I misread that. I like putting the link to the photobucket. I dont like the idea of putting pictures/videos below. It adds clutter.

Great design is a very subjective description.

For me I would love to see a better search engine. I have to dig for threads. Or I have to post in them to remember to check them later. I would like them to utilize a method to mark certain threads so I can check them later. Forgive me if this is already here. I believe you can subscribe to threads but it has never been clearly explained to me how?

At the top of a thread, click on "Thread Tools" and there's a subcribe link in there.

Go look at some of the other forums. The small print and color schemes make it difficult to read at times. Too many banners and video clips pop out at you as well. Why I like BO, it is simple. There is not clutter that makes it difficult to read. I dont know enough about webdesign to be specific, but the design is clean.

You know what WOULD be a great addition? A section for the Supercollectors to spam their stuff. I've got a bunch of stuff, not exactly high-end but still, and trying to find the person who is collecting specific players is not that easy. If all the people who supercollect could post in 1 area, it would make it so much easier to find out who is collecting what.

I've seen other VBulletin forums have a "Thanks" button you can click for useful/helpful/funny etc posts. I always liked the Thanks button

I would love this too, but just a heads up if you are using Firefox you can just highlight the link, then righ click and it gives you the option to "Open Link in New Tab/Window".

I for one would love to be able to have animated gifs as avatars, but I know that is a long shot being that it would be tough to police that fine line...

This is the #1 reason I like SCF cause of their inventory system

This might not be too bad but how about a free tshirt for members with 100 itrader transactions with 100% positive feedback. I think it would be a good way to reward members for positive transactions. If its going to cost too much I understand too. Just a thought

there is a gallery thread/forum here where you can post your supercollections, etc...
also just use the search function and you can pull up any posting with that players name...
There are a lot of guys/gals on here who collect one player this week and get bored and switch to another player. I also think there are threads in each sport that you can post in on who you collect or what team you collect.

I was thinking that BO should offer a t-shirt or something for sale and then offer it at a discount for people doing BO sponsored group breaks.

I would need gloves instead of a t-shirt because that is all you see when I do breaks, but I thought it was a great idea ever since I saw someone do a break wearing a BO t-shirt... maybe Robert?

Anyway, why not propose a design contest to see who can create the coolest shirt for BO?
