Vintage would be awesome! That's one of the major reasons I dont go to this site in favor of others. If I were looking for a Yoenis Cespedes Gold Rainbow Superfractor RC Auto Game Used Die Cut BGS Graded 9.5 card (which I'm not) then this site is the place.

I'm looking more for 1952 Bowman and some T206 stuff. Not much on here for that, so hopefully this thread works!

Yeah a vintage section would help so many of us complete sets. Its hard to find any vintage for the sets on here, even at local shops and flea markets. Just not around much anymore.

I would also like a Vintage section. Vintage says we embrace a wider range of collecting.

Would be great to be able to go straight to those posts. There are enough members that the section would continue to remain lively.

Great idea on a vintage thread. Please don't enter me into the contest. There is nothing better than walking into a card shop and seeing a box of old beat up cards. I am a wrestling collector but still have a little box of old cards I pick up for a buck each or so whenever I can.

I can still remember laying out my first baseball cards all over the floor when I was a kid. They were 1987 Topps. Still love them til this day and just thinking about it makes me want to put that set together, lol.

Every once in a while I search Ebay just to look at the older cards and what they represent. All for the vintage thread and would frequent it often.

I love seeing a box of old cards at the shop too! I'm young so I never had the chance to collect in the 80's lol. Thanks for the posts everyone!

87 Topps was my first serious card set too. Just started going through all my cards for the first time since the early 90's. Pretty neat trip down memory lane. I lost interest about 91/92, so looking into the current state of collecting is kind of a culture shock. Autographed cards, game used stuff, refractors, chrome, etc is all new to me. Still not sure about it, so I agree a vintage section would be a good idea as that's all I'm primarily interested in right now.

It's the best thing ever. I don't even care about how beat up they are. That just means a kid played with the card the way I played with G.I. Joes.

I am with you. I just competed the base set of 2012 WWE Topps Heritage. Love them because they have no gloss and just have the vintage feel and look to them.

One thing we enjoy is getting cards autographed. Nothing is worse then spending the time to degloss or powder a card and it still come out ruined or smudged. Stop with the gloss man, it doesn't have to be so shiny!
