24 Hour Trades?

On HobbyKnings they do something called 24 hour trades... Basically it is where you post a card and all other mambers have 24 hours to post a trade offer. at the end of this time there will be a winner and you complete a trade with them. It's a great way to expand your collection, show off your cards, and have more fun with the hobby.

Of course there should be rules like no retracting offers or main offer like on hk but i was just wondering if we could do it on here also... If not forget it but i just think it's fun

I think there should at least be a more formal trading system. Like you post a card FT, and everytime someone sends you an offer, it lists all the offers that you have gotten, and ranks them by BV etc.

That really would not work. Nobody really wants to deal with the hassle of listing all of your cards exactly and finding the BV. People would rather just deal and talk directly to other people. No other sites have this and there is a reason why.

I like the idea of 24 hour trades though.

So how does it work. If I have a card to trade do I get to pick the trade offer I want to accept? I tried looking last night on the website but couldn't find it.

Yes...(you have to be a registered member to see them)

Basically you post a card (or many cards as a lot) as a 24 hr trade.

then members who are interested can offer thier best trade for it.

During this time the creator should post leaderboards.

after the end of the 24 hours the creator picks his favorite offer and they complete the trade....

I love these and am currently doing one on there for a melo rc auto but i would LOVE to do some on here too

i think it would be a great idea on here. maybe we should test the waters on it. im pretty comfortable with the traders on here and i think it would not only be a good way to get rid of cards you dont want, but like you said expand a pc.

I really don't see a purpose to making a section like this. Is it that hard to make a post saying that I have X card and I would like to trade for player A, B, or C of similar value? Then when you see something you like, make the deal. Why be forced into making a trade for something your really don't want just because it was the best thing offered in a 24 hour time period?

That is the fun in it... There is obviously a risk but this makes it a lot more fun with the suspense and all the offers pouring in and you can say you would perfer certain players for this card. Keep in mind since it is 24 hours people will not hesitate to offer as much as a normal trade offer. I say we try one or two and you guys can deside for, or against it.

It's a good idea and I think it would encourage trades and participation from the board community. If not people won't participate, nobody gets hurt and the idea dies.

If the person that offers their cards for trade truly understands the risk and the concept being proposed they won't feel "forced" to trade anything.

Maybe we don't need another section for it and someone should just start a thread implementing it.

someone should start a thread, you can PM the trade offers, and the thread starter makes a leaderboard in the order of his rankings of the trade. I would maybe make one of these too if they are working.

Yeah you have to... That is the risk part... However that is what makes it more suspensful and fun!

No kidding, we used to be able to trust each other here, what's the problem with the honor system. Isn't itrader enough. I'd say I have 50 deals outside of itrader, I certainly wouldn't want any more interference in the process than there already is.
