Thumbs up A Raffle Section!

People who have 100% Positive feedbacks with 100+ total Feedbacks can start a raffle thread. It will give people a chance of getting some sweet cards for a cheap price. Just an idea, it can give people who can't afford some high end cards a chance to do so. No raffles more than 100 spots.

Just an idea, read the rules before posting.

No Raffles, Grab Bags, etc. - No Raffles or any other similar postings. Only straight up buying, selling, trading. The more detail you post about what your looking for, the quicker your likely to get a response you need. IE I've got 20 Paypal and looking for 2008 Topps Chrome Copper Refractors for my set. Do not post you've got Paypal and looking for a "lot" (or autos, or jerseys)...be as specific as possible and the thread will likely not be deleted.

Although it could be a great thing for people with less funds that want a nice card, it would probably create issues that the staff would not want to deal with.

I did, I still think it would be a cool addition.

Pretty sure that's why he put this in the suggestion box.

Exactly! I think they could make a bunch of rules for a Raffle section to make it so there isn't any problems. Maybe upload a quick video of pulling the winner as proof?

This would be really fun IMO. Say you throw $3 in the pot for the chance to win a $50 card. The odds of you are winning are slim, but it's only $3 if you lose.

There are just too many things that could go wrong. If you have to pay the spots via gift, the seller could just never ship. If you pay via goods, those who don't win can file claims.

It would be neat, but tricky.

A "raffle is basically a razzle and who would limit the amount of money that the person putting up the card would earn? You have people complaining about a winning bid in some of the case breaks recently done by Houdini so I highly doubt BO would want to get involved in a raffle. Too many ways to take advantage of others or ways for people to complain about losing money.

Or even throw in $25 for a 1 In 4 chance of winning a $100 card.

Pretty sure the whole illegal part will nix this. Most states require you have a raffle license if your going to hold raffles, which at least here in Michigan requires an application, the fee, plus 6-8 weeks lead time. I'm not sure however what limits have to be met for the license to be required (if its based on the number of tickets, or the amount of money brought it)

I think if BO let this happen, everyone would have to get a card or something. Cause it would be considered gambling?

Age verification would also come into play.

For me personally, I don't want to see this on the forums. It can give people who can't afford a high end card a chanced to get nothing. That's not collecting. They can just go buy a lottery ticket and if they win, buy cards.

Also gives the seller a chance to get a lot more for their card than market value. Unhappy people can just file an item not received with Paypal since there will be no tracking.

At least in a group break you usually get something.

The only way I would feel it would be good would be say the card raffled say $50 dollars and only have 50 slots at $1.00. And that is what it sells for on eBay.

yeah it would be awesome...checking the member forum and seeing people whining and crying because they got ripped off or a raffle host gets chargebacks thru paypal....

these would keep mods busy just trying to clear thru all the cons scamming them...

other sites do these....go join them there

This would never happen on here because of what happened with hakiu with so many people getting ripped off this would just be another way for somebody to pull a huge scam.
