Default Pack Wars!

I love pack wars.. never ran one, but it'd be so fun!
Is it allowed currently (i don't even know) but how about letting other "Approved Group Break Hosts" to run pack wars off blowout?

Basketball and Benchwarmer pack wars would be so fun.

I know Houdini use to do them occasionally, with a grand prize at the end. Not sure if another host has ever attempted it.

That is where lets say we take a 20 Pack box. I open one pack at a time and you open one pack at a time and then the one with the better contents at the end of each pack whens that pack. So if we open a pack of 2013 Topps and I get a rookie card /499 of Geno Smith and then in your pack you had a EJ Manuel 1/1 you would win that war meaning you keep that pack and my pack so you get the Geno Smith as well. There are many ways to do pack wars though.

yes this is one way.. the way houdini normally does it is that there's a grandprize at the end. we have a bracket system of lets say 16 participants. Everyone gets a pack for each round. You get to keep the contents of your packs. But Houdini will alternate rounds with high card number and low card number. So if the first round is high number and i have card 193 while you have card 101 then I advance to the next round. We all keep the packs contents for our own packs but you would not advance to the next round while i have another pack and a chance to win the grand prize. At the end, someone will win the grand prize.. i've gotten a signed Billy Butler fielding glove one time back when houdini was solo. It's a lot of fun.

Other ways to play this like Barberromo mentioned. there are winner takes all formats too. but that's less conducive to Blowout's policy.

I never liked "best contents" pack wars, makes it very grey.

I always did mine at the LCS (back in the day) and it would be stat related or weight/age related based on the info provided on the card. It HAD to say it on the card (eg....if "most goals" was the hockey criteria, Wayne Gretzky card wasn't automatic win, had to say his number of goals on the card). This heightened the drama as there was a chance you could steal your opponent's big hit or they could steal yours.
