Baseball Club: Looking for new members

The first baseball club on Blowout is looking for a few good members. With the upcoming draft and so many new products coming out, it is a good chance to claim a team that is still available.

Teams available:

Chicago White Sox
Oakland Athletics
Houston Astros

The way this works is that everyone chips in $45 per team/month and we bust some cases. The $45 includes shipping/paypal fees and the cost of the cards and is a recurring monthly payment. There are 23 teams already claimed and we have been at this for 5 going on 6 months already. We tend to try and mix it up with high end, hit driven and prospect driven products. We generally try to do full cases rather than just boxes.

The cases we have already broken are:
Jan: 2010 Bowman Draft
Feb: 2008 EEE
Mar: 2008 UD Heroes
Apr: 2011 Tribute 8 box
May: 2011 Bowman Jumbo

We are tentatively looking at Bowman Platinum for June and a master case of TTT for July (with some additional funds added if the member chooses to do so). Each member has a vote on the product we are breaking. Majority rules. Teams that are not already claimed are auctioned off between the members of the group via silent auction prior to each draft. Non affiliated MLB cards (President cards, USA) are randomed between members.

These have been some pretty good breaks for most teams involved.

Post in thread if any interest, this is first come first served for team priority.

yea id be down if we did random teams every month kinda unfair for us to support the nats getting a shot at harper every time haha

although if ones these teams were open id be game ..give me backup for dodgers and braves please

I think I want in on this but I have a few questions. I read the innagural rules, it says 1 year. Obviously this has been going on for a while, how many more months would I need to commit to? Also, is it firm that the team you choose will be your team for the remainder of the breaks? Or did it change to random each break?

You have the same team for all breaks. We can't make you stay but we would at least like people willing to stick around until the end of the year.

The Nationals have not done as well as some people may think. There are a lot of teams that have done better. I wouldn't say we have been supporting the Nationals or any other team in this. With new prospects on new teams etc, the products and desirable teams are going to change, that is why we try to mix up high end, hit driven and prospect driven products. The packs still have to be broken.

For instance I have the Braves, they are pretty good for High End products, but not too desirable for the prospect products. I got a hand full of base cards in the EEE break, but did well in the Tribute break. They will get better for prospects as the Julio Teherans and such have more cards, but for right now, I am pretty much paying my monthly fees for the Hit based products.

I agree.. But you guys need to stop complaining about it..

I'm a HUGE Cardinals fan, but they were taken right away. I hopped on the backup list. But after thinking it over, I decided I wanted to do it regardless because it sounds really fun, so I picked another team that I'm fond of, the Dbacks, and joined.
