College Athletes Signing TTM?

I'm guessing it varies by school, but is this legal? I've seen a few successes so I'm guessing it is, to a point I guess. I emailed the assistant to TCU head coach Gary Patterson after receiving an autograph from Coach, asking for an autograph of Andy Dalton, and she said they don't have any photos for the athletes to sign. Is it worth sending a photo of Andy to try getting it signed or will the school most likely flag it since they pretty much know I didn't take the photo? Haven't heard back from her yet.

I don't think they can/do. Maybe In Person autos. But, autos through the mail of a college athlete seems like a conflict of interest for sure. I always heard that they couldn't.

Imagine if Cam Newton signed TTM? He'd like 1,000 requests a day. He's supposed to be a student first..football player second.

Got a quick response. Turns out I can send a photo, and she said, and I quote:

"If you send a photo – I can get him to sign it….make sure to send a return envelope with postage so I can mail it back to you. Thanks."

Sounds like a good deal to me.

One auto I'd want to get is get a photo signed by the whole Gophers team, not sure if sending one to Tubby if he could get the whole thing signed though

I wouldnt even try the ducks. They are absolutely locked down at the athletics office. I am 0-50 on them... talked to the lady and she said that they monitor every piece of mail because of money and stuff...
interesting to see how many others sign

It's changed with Tebow and Reggie Bush actually.

I used to get a lot in college. Even guys like Eli Manning were huge TTM signers (got 3 times). I tried about 30 last year and got one back (Colt McCoy). I got almost all back with letters from the player (secretary) saying the NCAA has told them not to sign in the mail anymore (to prevent things like Reggie Bush happening; accepting money, etc).

I sent to UGA for Richt and any others that would sign. I got an email back saying all of the coaches would but they have a policy of no student athlete TTM signings.

I've gotten TONS of college athletes via TTM. They are usually very, very gracious people and occasionally send extra stuff. Great guys!

did you try in the past year or so? Colleges are getting locked down on autograph requests. Especially this year... I am 3 for 50 or so....

Has anyone had any luck with Mark Ingram from Alabama?

He is from my hometown and I would love to add him to my collection but I am thinking I might be better off waiting till he gets drafted? Or No?

Any advice?

i sent to him back in may and havent heard anything. I sent to julio jones richardson and ingram.... oh well
