Default Book Signing Events

Has anyone gone to any book signing events at Barnes & Noble?? or any other place?

I was wondering if you are only allowed to get your book signed or if the Author will sign another item as well?

I am thinking of going to an event for Jim Bob Duggar (19 Kids and Counting) in June and I wanted to make up a custom card for him to sign as well as the book. I just don't know if he can/will sign anything else.

The book signings I have been to really depended on a lot of things...
How famous is the author, i.e. how many people are in line?
Are they on a time schedule?
What mood are they in?
How strict are the people running the event?

In general, I would go into it expecting to just have one book signed by the author. But bring whatever other items you have to sign just in case. They will announce if the author will only sign their books when you get there. But 9 times out of 10 it is not a problem.
