Default jmarshstl5's TTM / IP Thread

Been lurking on the TTM threads for a while now, and finally started to send out a few of my own.

This is my first IP success. A big thanks goes out to danmecum51 and cdahlk2001 for helping me with IP etiquette and Tony Gwynn.

I went to the Utah Utes vs SDSU Aztecs series in early May. Very few people show up to baseball in Utah, but that just means more time for me.

Friday had the most people (8), so I only got a ball. There were only 2 of us on Saturday, so I was able to talk to Tony and get my photo signed. (Thanks for the gold ink suggestions Dan). There were only 4 people on Sunday. I got another ball.

Overall, it was a great success. I didn't even have to pay for admission!

Here are the pics.

Pic is flawless, just need to clean the scanner

Thanks for looking!!

Haha! I just need to get it framed now. The good thing is that SDSU will play BYU and Utah in the future. Meaning 6 chances to get Gwynn next year!

PM coming your way. I have a couple questions about some successes you got.

First failure today.

Al Kaline returned my check and ROMLB unsigned.

Not too surprised by this. I've been reading that he only signs flats and takes cash. Can anyone confirm or refute this???

Oh well. It was worth a shot. There is good news...the stamps are still good from the return envelope (good ole USPS).

Nice Gwynn collection! Just a note on handling the signed baseballs...GET THEM OUT OF YOUR PALMS AND FINGERS...try to only grab them by the seams only. Minimize contact with your bare hands!

The oils in your hands will get on the ball thus "yellowing" the baseball and "toning" it as well...you won't see it immediately but more like 10+ years down the line...just trying to help keep the longevity of your signed baseballs!

Thanks for the tips! Right now I have them in UV protected cubes in a box in the closet. Just had to take them out to take pictures (darn glare LOL).
