Default Top 10 TTMS

I'm bored as hell and love these type of threads cause i like seeing other peoples favorites... so here is mine... I've done this before but here goes....

Honarable mention (after going through them all I had to pay some respect to these)

10. Chip Kelly (email) Oregon Ducks Head Coach
I was coaching High School ball in Washington and we had just sent a kid to Oregon and I was in contact with him. I asked him if he could send me a photo for my office, and he said he would..... I recieved it the next day overnighted from the Athletic Department. I seen him at a dinner a few months later back in my home town of Grants Pass, Oregon and I thanked him for the picture and he said he loved that picture (so he remembered ha ha)Seen him last year, said hi to him, he blew right past me he he oh well... he is big time now. This is my only return from him.

9. Drew Brees (Foundation) New Orleans QB
Got this right when he was signing for a brief period... Signature and abbreviated but its still awesome. This is my only return from him.

8. Peyton Manning (Foundation) Indianapolis Colts QB
Oh the days when Peyton signed... love this picture. I have got 5 returns from him

7. Yogi Berra (Home) New York Yankees Hall of Famer
I couldnt believe I got this one back, and it was for free. I have got 2 returns from him

6. John Elway (Team) Denver Broncos Hall of Famer
I couldnt believe it when I got this back. The address had 0 returns and no one had got Elway TTM for a few years. This is my only return from him.

5. Johnny Depp (home) Actor
MY favorite actor, this was part of my single best mailday which returned Troy Aikman, Bart Starr and Johnny. This is my second return from him.

4. Nolan Ryan (foundation) California Angels Hall of Famer
I paid $40 for this and I am so happy i took the chance on him. This is my only return from him.

3. Brett Favre (Foundation) Green Bay Packers Hall of Famer
I think this is my favorite picture, favre is one of my all-time favorite, and he even used his own silver sharpie. I got two returns from him.

2. Dick Butkus (Foundation) Chicago Bears Hall of Famer
LOVE Butkus! My favorite player of all-time was so happy when I got this. I have got 3 successes from him

1. Wayne Gretzky (Home) Edmonton Oilers Hall of Famer
Is there really anything to say about these???

Not sure if you were asking us to post, or if you wanted it to your own. If you were looking just to show your stuff I'm sorry I jacked your thread.

I don’t have all mine scanned in, but here are my favorite returns.

This was way back when Tiger had literally just turned pro. Most seem to think it’s legit. I’d have PSA check it out, but they cost so much for photos and I plan on hanging onto it anyway.

Got this a while back. Only got 1 shoe, but can’t complain. Also got a pair from Jared Allen – both signed and have purple and yellow paint all over them. I don’t have those scanned in though.

Tried for 8 years to get this. Had this card signed by one or the other probably 15 times throughout that time and finally got them both on the same one after trying forever.

I’m a big Jano fan. Got a trio of tickets from his 63 yard game, a jersey, multiple photos over the years. These are some of them:

This one was IP, but still sweet!! Also got a jersey and Mini Helmet

Big fan of these. Rookie mini helmet, and a pic

This project took over 2 years. I have one for me, and an identical one for my son

This project took about a year. Had to pay for Kelly but the rest were free.

These were also all TTM back in the day of course:

Bradshaws a ghost, but still love the card

Back in the day Walter would do 1 per person. I got this and a year later tried again. It was returned unsigned saying he already signed for me. RIP

Was happy to get this TTM only so I didn’t have to waste money on him for my HOF PC. Some of his are ghost signed – but they are easy to tell which ones are real and which ones are the ghost. I got lucky on it when he was in Leavenworth prison.

Got this back in the day before he charged for his sig

Got lots more, but those are some of my “favorite” ones that I have scanned in at least. I’d say if you look at my HOF PC – 40% or so are from TTM requests. Been very lucky with gracious HOF signers on the football side. Also got lots of Berras when I was younger, an authentic Hank Aaron (not the ghost), Drysdale, Puckett, etc. That was back when I’d do chores around the house for stamps. Those were the days.

It was back before I kept track of dates I used. I was thinking it was the Leavenworth correctional center he was at. I got Vick there too when Vick was there - I was thinking it was the same center. Maybe it was a different one....I can't remember for sure. Whichever correctional center he was in was where I got the auto from though.

I found it in my notes....it was Lovelock - not Leavenworth. Sorry about that

That's nothin Dan. I'm only 29 now, and when I was 8 my gas station had packs of cards. I saved up like $15 and went and bought all the football packs they had. They were the HOF Swell cards - and I was really upset when I got them. I hadn't heard of any of the older players and I showed them to my dad. He said they were some of the best players to ever play the game (which is why they were HOF cards...duh), and that I should try to get them signed rather than be mad. Thanks to him and those cards I got started in TTM and it's why I have the HOF PC I do now. The older generation football players are the most gracious people I've seen when it comes to their fans. I bet 80% of the players who were alive were happy to sign the cards for me. I only wish all players were like that. It's a shame any time I hear about one of them passing or getting sick.

The next time I pull out my Jaren Allen shoes I'll have to scan them in. They are really sweet. He was doing an NFL.com chat and someone asked him what his pregame ritual is. He said he doesn't have one, but he always gets a new pair of shoes and new gloves for the game. Being the smart a$$ that I am, I posted a response saying that I bet he has a lot of smelly shoes sitting around that he didn't know what to do with and asked if I could have a pair. He followed up by saying to send a prepaid box to the Vikings and he'd hook me up. So I did, and a week later he did. Monsterous shoes, and the purple/yellow paint of them is sweet.

I joined a PSA/DNA group special. We were able to submit multi signed cards. I'll post them when I get them back...all TTM.

There is one card I got in 1991.it was in the first batch of letters I ever sent out. I didn't think it was real but it came back authentic. BY FAR the best one posted here. I know i will never top it. Not sure its possible. I'm on vacation next week but when I get back I'll post it. I didn't sleep much last night after seeing the results pop....was too exited about it.

At that time, I'll also post my Jared Allen cleats as well as my most sentimental piece I've gotten (can't believe I forgot to post it in my first post - but I don't have it scanned in yet)

OK I've got photos of the Allen cleats and my most sentimental auto I own. The cleats were in a box full of starting lineups and headliners that were auto'd TTM that I kind of forgot about.

This is a 1964 Topps team card of the Raiders. It features the 1963 Raiders - which was the year Al Davis took over as coach (the greatest turnaround in history as far as win % in one year is concerned). It's signed by Jim Otto, Tom Flores, Cotton Davidson, Art Powell, Clem Daniels, and Dave Costa - the most influential players on that first team Davis coached. The only thing missing is Mr Davis of course. I actually saw him in 2007 in Minneapolis at the Marriott before the game vs the Vikings. I tried to get it signed during the 20 minutes it took him to walk from the hotel doors to the car. He laughed when I asked after he got in arms reach and said, "son, I haven't signed an autograph in 20 years." He is my all time idol, and I'll cherish that forever even if I wasn't able to get his signature.

And here are the cleats I kept talking about:
