Today was probably one of the cooler successes I've ever had. Wrote Gene Patterson (Bigfoot driver), and today got my 4 A&G cards signed, he included 4 of his own, and a really nice (and long) personal note - even included his email. Wish more were like this.

Sweet stuff, Derrick! Glad to see my man Gene came through for ya! I've found over the years that motorsports people, especially monster truck drivers/owners, are the friendliest of any sport. Even within the motorsports community, monster truck folks make fan-friendly NASCAR guys seem like the toughest Sox/Yankees players. When I was working on my 1990 Classic set a few years ago, almost every driver I tracked down included a handwritten note or an extra photo or something. They're thrilled to be remembered 20 years later.

Nice returns man, Gene Patterson is a great signer and really seems to care about his fans. I had sent one of those Bigfoot cards to him w/a SASE and he added a number of other items w/my card and they wouldn't fit in the SASE so he paid for the postage and larger envelope out of his own pocket.
