Two successes came in today....

Simon Castro signed 2/2-looks horrible, he signed with a really thin pen and his auto is just kinda crappy.

Herschel Walker signed 3/3 in black sharpie. I resent to Walker since a couple of my earlier ones did not turn out well....these ones all look good!!

I've got some advice for you. Before you send out a glossy card to be signed rub it with your thumb a little. It will wear off some of the gloss & the ink will stick ti it better. It'll give you blisters after awhile, but it's worth it.

I use a dry erase board erasers. They work well 99% of the time. I did send out a bunch early on before I knew about this. Sometimes they use crappy pens/markers when signing, and sometimes I might not have prepped the cards as well as I thought. Even though I prep the cards, I still have issues with a few cards in person with good sharpies. However, most cards like chrome etc. come out great.

Okay...so I am in the longest TTM drought in quite some time. However, the wife and I did attend a baseball game tonight...Lynchburg (Reds) vs. Kinston (Indians).

The wife got everyone on Lynchburg to sign a Reds helmet except 2 players:

Jeff Jeffords (jackass) and Jordan Hotchkiss (starting pitcher). She got all other players on Lynchburg.

I got the following players on Lynchburg on cards:

Josh Fellhauer 2/2 signed in blue sharpie
Neftali Soto 4/4 (2 signed in blue sharpie, 2 in black sharpie)

Kinston Indians:

T.J. McFarland signed 1/1 in blue sharpie
Abner Abreu signed 2/2 in blue sharpie....he is always awesome
Aaron Holbert signed 1/1 in blue sharpie (manager)

I was disappointed today...I went primarily to get Boxberger for Lynchburg, but he just got called up to AA. I am going to try to get him to sign next time I make it to the Carolina Mudcats game next month (Reds AA). I will post pics later.

Troy Aikman 0/1 sent me a autopen black and white picture back with my card returned unsigned.

Back from our house hunting adventures....2 more successes came in today...

Jay Jackson signed 2/2 in black sharpie with good luck inscribed on each.

Matt LaPorta signed 1/1 in blue sharpie with personalization. This is the second time I got LaPorta this year...I wanted to get his auto on a card where he is wearing a MLB uniform.

Just got back from a trip to Virginia to visit some vineyards for the wifes birthday...I had 2 more successes waiting for me when I returned....

Yale Lary (HOF) signed 2/2 in blue sharpie with "HOF 79" inscribed on both.

Mercury Morris signed 3/3 in black sharpie with 1 personalized to me and 1 personalized to my friend who is a huge Dolphins fan (the reason I sent this request!). All of them are inscribed "17-0"

I have been in a big drought lately. Part of the reason is we are buying a house and moving in two weeks, so I have not sent much out the past few weeks. I am looking forward to hit the ground running once in the new house!

I can't wait to have this move completed/house bought! We are scheduled to close the first Monday of August. Buying a house is a pain in the #$%!! We just rented the past couple years. We are also moving from NC to Indiana, so that just adds to it!! The wife is happy to be going back to Indiana, I am just dreading having to deal with the winters again!

Good thing you didn't move back last year. We had the worst winter in twenty years, and now it's so humid that you can't breathe. On a postivie note, football season weather is always good. . .too bad my Hoosiers football team ruins the experience. Congrats on your new home!

Thanks! I grew up in northern Indiana...so I remember the cold winters! We only lived in North Carolina for a few years due to jobs. All of my family is still in Indiana. As for IU football...I know what you mean...I am a fan as well. I heard all about the winter last year as well. Since I will be living near Lafayette, I will have to buy the biggest IU flag I can find and put it out in the front yard!!

Ouch. That's a tough place to land if you're a Hoosier fan. Who knows, maybe they will surprise us this year.
