the Monbouquette is sweet! I love that design. I am old school and I like the ballpoint pen autos. They looks so great and the old ball players have way better sigs

Nothing on 4/7. Then on 4/8, my strangest mailday so far:
FAILURE from Joe Morgan c/o ESPN. I found this mangled envelope in my mailbox yesterday. I blacked out my name after getting it back, but I don't know what to make of this. Anyone???? Last edited by sportscards1013; 04-30-2010 at 03:45 PM. |

As the TTM drought continues (13 days!), I spent my day today watching the Rays and the Red Sucks at Fenway. Although the game didn't go as I hoped, I brought some cards to get signed and decided to attack the Rays dugout for autos because fans at the Fens usually gravitate towards the Sox dugout. I've tried the Sox dugout many times before, and have had VERY little success, only Kevin Cash signed for me.
So today, I got 4 autographs, and they got better and better with each one. First, I got former Bruin Andy Brickley on Yawkey Way on my ticket stub, and he was vey personable. He was talking on the pregame show about the Bruins, and I was actually in that area trying to get Peter Gammons' auto, but they switched Gammons and Brick right as I was walking over. Still, a nice auto, though. Next, inside the park, I made my way over to the Rays dugout with my stack of Rays cards. The bullpen pitchers came in one by one, and I was able to get Mike Ekstrom and Andy Sonnanstine. Ekstrom was nice, but Sonnanstine was kind of miserable and took my pen. Luckily, I had a extra Sharpie, as the stars started coming out. I wasn't able to get Lance Cormier or Pat Burrell who signed, but then, the Rays biggest star, came over to where I was standing and signed for all of us! EVAN LONGORIA!! Very personable, and a rare example of a young superstar who doesn't let their "celebrity" get to their head. He signed the 09 U&H card I had of him, and really made my trip to Fenway worth while. As a Sox fan, I've always kind of disliked Longo because of his Sox-killing powers, but I gained a lot of respect for him today. SCANS: #1-Andy Brickley on Ticket Stub #2-Mike Ekstrom (Top) and Andy Sonnanstine (Bottom) on 2010 Topps Rays Franchise History Card #3-EVAN LONGORIA on 2009 Topps U&H All-Star Card Last edited by sportscards1013; 04-19-2010 at 08:21 PM. |

That's awesome you got Longoria. Can't wait to see the scan.
If you want to reduce the amount of wait time you have between autographs, I can't stress enough for you to join Startiger. You can pull up all of the athletes you're interested in and see if they are a good TTM signer. If they are good signers, you can also see the amount of time it takes to get your request back. I usually try and mix my requests up. I'll write to a quick responding probable athlete, then someone who'll respond, but it takes them a while, then I'll go for a long shot. I figure one day I'll be pleasantly surprised when one of my gambles paying off. |

So, I had tickets for last night at Fenway, Sox vs. Rangers, and it was the second Sox loss I saw in 4 days.
Nevertheless, I got 7 autographs during my time at the park!!First, outside, they had a fan meet and greet (read: scam for you to buy a photo) with new Red Sox ulitity guy Bill Hall. They kept yelling "no autographs, no autographs", but I, being a collector, pulled out the only Bill Hall card I own and handed it to Bill as it was my photo turn. Bill signed it just in time before the security guard once again yelled "no autographs" and reached for me. I'm not making that up. Mr. Hall smiled at me, and we took our photo and I had my first auto success of the night. Once inside, I made my way over to the Rangers side where the pitchers were warming up. I wanted Neftali Feliz and Frank Francisco, but they didn't sign. I did however manage 3 Rangers pitchers autographs on the 4x6s I had printed up before the game. Matt Harrison, Doug Mathis, and Dustin Nippert all pleasantly signed for me. They went inside, and I pulled out my Guerrero, Hamilton, Young, Murphy, and Davis cards as they started to come out. Chris Davis, who was optioned down after the game, came over to sign, and of course, my Sharpie CRAPPED OUT just as he went to sign his Heritage card. He managed to sign it barely, so not bad on that front. Next, David Murphy came over and signed my card, and was talking to all of the fans and was REALLY NICE. But, as on Monday, I saved the best for last. The second TERIFFIC IP success came in the form of......JOSH HAMILTON!!! He signed my 2010 Topps card of himself and was also extremely nice to everyone. A great auto day again!!!!!!!!!!!!! SCANS: #1-Bill Hall on 2002 Fleer card-signature is rushed because of the security guard yelling at him #2-Matt Harrison on 4x6 #3-Doug Mathis on 4x6 #4-Dustin Nippert on 4x6 #5-Chris Davis-rough sig on 2010 Heritage card #6-David Murphy on 2007 U&H rookie card #7-JOSH HAMILTON ON 2010 Topps Last edited by sportscards1013; 04-23-2010 at 04:33 PM. |

I've analyzed what I've gotten back so far from my original 50 sendouts on 3/8 and 3/9. I have gotten 24/50 back so far, and out of those 24, 16 were successes. Since, 57 have gone out, and I have gotten back 10 responses, 9 successes and 1 fail. Still waiting on 75!! I'm not doing terrible, but I've sent out to a lot of players everyone here has had success with, and nothing yet!!

Great day, did you use C/O Team at Target Field for the Nathan? I'll have to send out to him now
