Another good mail day 5/16/14. I got back a letter of request to sign a mini. I will be posting that when I get it. Also got back what I sent to:

Smokey Stover

LB for Texans/Chiefs from 1960-1966
2x AFL Champ
Member of Super Bowl I team.

Mr. Stover signed both my 5x7's and also wrote responses to my questionnaire on a Chief's notepad. Pretty sweet to learn about those years. Thanks Mr. Stover!

I guess I will call this a success. I got my LOR back today I had sent to Ed Podolak. He said it would be best to wait till the fall. He is out of the country. Said to send it to University of Iowa Athletic department. So, thats what I will do. Wait till fall then get one of the Chiefs "Do It All" backs added to the my "Chiefs Wall of Fame".

Got another Kansas City Chiefs item today:

Frank Pitts

KC WR 1965-69, also played with the Browns & Raiders
AFL Champ '66 & '69
Super Bowl I and IV member
Grandfather to Brandon Bolden RB for the Patriots

(2/2) He signed my photo in blue. I should have tried to lighten the pic up. Still very cool. He also added thoughtful responses to my questionnaire. Thank you Mr. Pitts!

Slow week of TTM's. Only 2 pieces back. I expected they would start slowing down. Most of my returns I expected to see back have made it. The rest is a toss up. I put some more 5x7's in the mail today with more to follow. Have 2 TTM minis I should be getting back soon.

This isnt a TTM mini, but I got a pretty nice deal on it so figured why not.... Helmet #40 to my Chiefs Wall of Fame:

Jan Stenerud

Chiefs K from 1967-79, also played for GB and Minn
3x ALL-AFL, 7x Pro Bowler
Member of Super Bowl IV Championship team.
Member of KC Hall of Fame.
Pro Football Hall of Fame in '91

I ended my TTM week on a high note. I got back helmet #41 for my Chiefs Wall of Fame:

Coach Dick Vermeil

KC Head Coach 2001-05
Super Bowl XXXIV Champ with Rams
Coached the Eagles to SB XV appearance
4x Coach of the Year
Interesting fact: 1st ever special teams coach

Coach Vermeil personalized this for me. If you cant read it it says...Jason - Thanks for being a Chiefs fan. Coach Dick Vermeil. He also inscribed the years he was with KC and the year they won the AFC West. Coach Vermeil also answered my 5 question questionnaire. Some great responses. This was pretty bad ass! Thank you Coach Vermeil!!!

Got another TTM helmet back today. This is Helmet #42 on my "Chief's Wall of Fame" and the 8th mini I have been able to TTM. Pretty Awesome.

E.J. Holub

Member of KC HOF
Texan/Chief from 1961-1970
5x All-Star
6x All-AFL (5x at LB, 1x at C)
Super Bowl IV Champ
Only player in NFL history to start 2 Superbowls on both sides of the ball. LB in I/C in IV.
1st player to have is # retired at Texas Tech.

Mr. Holub added Super Bowl I & IV to my mini. I am calling this (1/2). I received my questionnaire back, but it isn't in his hand writing. It looks like maybe he instructed a young grandson to write what he told him. Football was spelled Futball. I appreciated the response regardless. I didnt know he was All-AFl on offense and defense as noted in the questionnaire. Did some checking (wikipedia was wrong), and he was 2nd team All AFL at center in 1969. Thank you Mr. Holub!

Another Chiefs TTM photo for the "Hall of Honor":

Fred "The Hammer" Williamson

Steeler in 1960
Raider 1961-64
Kansas City Chief 1965-1967
3x All-AFL
Athlete turned Actor

He personalized and signed in silver. These black and white photos are tough to really see the auto at any distance with black or silver depending on the spot. Pretty cool to get "The Hammer" into the collection. Thanks Mr.Williamson!

TTM response #2 for 6/5/14 is one I was really hoping to get back. It is an amazing piece for my "Chiefs Hall of Honor". May I introduce the very first QB in Dallas Texan/Kansas City Chiefs history....

Cotton Davidson

1st QB of Dallas Texan/Kansas City Chiefs Franchise
2x AFL-All Star '61, '63
MVP of AFL All-Star Game in 1961
Drafted by the Baltimore Colts in 1954, his tenure was cut short due to military service and a shoulder injury. He was replaced by Johnny Unitas.

Such a great part of the history of the Chiefs. I did not get a questionnaire returned, but thrilled to get Mr. Davidson. Thank you Mr. Davidson!
