Default Graphing at Wrigley

Any advice? It's a day game and I'm getting there super early... Looking to try both home and away teams if possible.

What day are you going? I am flying in from Texas and have tickets for Thursday and also need graphing advice.

Stadium Autograph Tips | Chicago Sports Fan Talk

Not sure how recent this is but it gives some good advice for pregame graphing. Sounds like visitors come in by the Billy Williams statue.

I went to a day game 3 years ago and got about 5-6 Cubs players down the 3rd base line within an hour or so of the start of the game.

If you are trying to get Bryant I heard he only signs mainly balls and tickets.

Good to know thanks! I have also heard that guys like Bryant, Russell, and Soler tend to sign a lot about 10-15 minutes before first pitch.

I'll look for you! I'll be wearing a green Nike drawstring backpack. Should get there around 9-9:30 to try to catch some players on their way in to the park. Hopefully the weather cooperates. See you there!

At Wrigley, if you don't have tickets for the 100 section, you won't get down by the dugout to even try inside the stadium. You might get lucky grabbing some of the visitors getting off the bus on the way in.

When trying to graph Wrigley, I've noticed the visitors tend to sign much more generously than the home team. Just something to think about.

Good luck! Have fun!

The visiting players get dropped off by the Billy Williams statue right outside the Captain Morgan Club. Most take the bus but some take the cab. I didn't get any Dodgers to sign there but I saw most of them. Niasco and one of the assistant coaches did sign for some people.

Inside I posted up on the Cubs side but there was no batting practice so it was pretty dead. Ross and Rondon signed a couple in the outfield but that was it. Then, as Briscogun said, the ushers went up and down each section checking tickets about 45 minutes before first pitch. I saw Rizzo and Russell sign during warmups, but the ushers had every aisle blocked so I couldn't get down there.

Post game, the Cubs players leave by gate J and walk across the street to the parking lot. It's pretty ridiculous. They have a temporary curtain that they close so that players can walk to their enclosed parking lot in peace. They only close it when a player goes through. Best part about it is the irony of the sign on the top of the curtain that says "making the confines friendlier". I went over to the parking lot but security yelled at us for trying to get guys to sign over the fence. They did tell us we could go over to gate J and try there. As soon as I crossed the street Lester was signing but the mob was too big so I couldn't get close enough. After that, Wada, Denorfia, and Fowler all signed as well. I got Fowler but didn't have cards for the others and I didn't want a side-paneled ball so I passed. Bryant didn't stop to sign but he left the game with flu symptoms so I don't blame him!

So overall, I would say don't waste your time inside. The best bet for visitors is about 3 hrs before game time. (We saw them all but just didn't get anyone to stop.) and like I said a few Cubs stopped and signed and made it worth the wait. Keep in mind the post game will change once the construction is done so who know what the players lot will be like next season.
