Default BVG or PSA

I just got a 1927 Zeenut series card online and it is for a friend so he will not resale it but I want it sealed, so PSA or BVG? I am not considering SGC so please tell me your experiences and why you chose one over the other. I am also thinking about a 1967 Philadelphia and a 1979 Topps cards, please any advice would help.

for vintage PSA will get you more money. but PSA cases and lables are prone to counterfeiting and are easy to tamper with. I like BVG you cant really tamper with a BVG holder

SGC would be the first chocie for pre-war. If they are off the table then PSA is the only choice.

PSA no other way, They grade cards, memorabilia and autographs. Beckett, buys, grades and sells, huge conflict of interest.

BVG. If the grade doesnt matter youre not going to get any more secure then Beckett. If looks matter personally I like the look of SGC a lot

I would go with BVG if it is for PC. There turnaround times are guaranteed where with PSA you can pay for the 5 day service and it may take over a month to get the card back.

Not correct. Beckett doesn't guarantee their turnaround times either.

Also not true. I've had it go past the deadline on a large order and did not receive full refund. Received a few vouchers as compensation, but nowhere near money back.

Wasn't there a big thing about the PSA T-206 Wagner being trimmed but PSA slabbed it anyway. PSA seems to have more counterfeit problems than BGS. I like the tamper-proof BVG also.

I've seen an obvious 89 Griffey that had been trimmed and was inside a PSA slabbed case. I felt it hard to trust them after I saw it or to trust people being able to open the case and insert another card.

If it is for PC I personally like the look of BVG better. Here are a couple of cards I just had graded from my 1978 set.

I am probably getting ready to send some of my 1933 Goudey cards in.

If it's a question of authenticity for a particular card, both PSA and Beckett are acceptable. Learn to assess the card on it's own without regard to what a holder says. There are Mint 9 PSA cards that I would not want in my collection even though the card might meet the technical standards for that grade. Overall eye appeal is the key(at least for me!) Good luck!

I like BVG. I feel like they are tougher on grading, their cases protect the cards better, they can't be tampered with, and just look nicer.

I go with beckett mainly because the card is sealed in soft sleeve inside slab to keep it from moving around. Also It looks better, but this is my opinion.

Totally agree with this poster. At least promise us that, whether you send the Zeenuts to PSA or SGC, you won't send the zeenuts cards to BVG? That would be an error.

100% SGC on the Zeenuts card. PSA on the other 2.
