There are soooo many jordan fleer rc's

I mean the jordan 9.5 has dropped so far ..

i have seen 9 centering at 3200-3300

i have a feeling that they will end up 2500 someday...

just because there are so many..

All things considered, I'll take both.

I'm a basketball card guy, but the 1952 Mantle is the card of all cards (within the post war era.)

Was that card a shortprint? Are all cards in the 1952 Topps set of equal printruns?

mantle was high series... and many were dumped into the ocean
had it been a low series card, it would not be as rare and definitely less expensive.

oh, i'll take the mantle over the jordan anyday.... unless the jordan is a BGS 10

Make sure the BGS has 4x 9.5's, they're the only one's worth anything...

Sorry if I missed the joke. Were a large quantity of the high series really destroyed?

Yes, there is an article about this.

Edit:

"The cards were released in several series over the course of the baseball season, a practice Topps would continue with its baseball cards until 1974. However, the last series of each year did not sell as well, as the baseball season wore on and popular attention began to turn towards football. Thus cards from the last series are much scarcer and are typically more valuable (even commons) than earlier series of the same year. Topps was left with a substantial amount of surplus stock in 1952, which it largely disposed of by dumping many cards into the Atlantic. In later years, Topps either printed series in smaller quantities late in the season or destroyed excess cards. As a result, cards with higher numbers from this period are rarer than low numbers in the same set, and collectors will pay significantly higher prices for them. The last series in 1952 started with card No. 311, which is Topps' first card of Mickey Mantle, and remains the most valuable Topps card ever (and the most valuable post-1948 card). The 1952 Topps Mantle is often mistakenly referred to as Mickey's rookie card, but that honor belongs to his 1951 Bowman card (which is worth about a third of the 1952 Topps card)."

Thank you. I didn't know this. Now I know why some of the football cards from the 1960s that are toward the end of the set sell for so much more than I would expect.

I picked MJ for PC purposes. Meaning value was a non-issue. Which would I be more proud to own 52 Mantle.

Product that wasn't sold was destroyed and what they did was dump a ton of high series into the ocean.

Neither. Both are relatively ordinary looking cards.

Much prefer a card which is actually visually appealing...1954 Aaron RC, 1954 Banks RC,1955 Koufax RC, any 1954/55/56 Ted Williams or Willie Mays card....

I'm a basketball guy too and would love to own both cards but if I had to pick I would go with the Mantle but not by much.
