Default My Bob Gibson PSA 7 Quest

I am attempting to complete a collection of Bob Gibson PSA 7s from his playing days (1959-1975).

I've got 8 left to go to complete the collection (59, 62, 64, 70, 72, 73, 74, 75). The 59 (RC) and the 62 (SP) are the big dogs.

Here's what I have so far.

Nice Gibsons! Several of them look better than the assigned grades(especially the ones before they had the half point system). What's your favorite card of his???? I have always liked the 71 and 75 the best. Congrats!

That's a tough question for me. I really like the 71, especially since it is a tough grade. I am a big fan of the 68 because of the photo and historical significance of that year. I know many collectors don't like his 59 RC, but I think it's awesome that one of the meanest pitchers in the history of the game is smiling on his pink card.

I know what you mean on the 59! How ironic. Maybe that's where the phrase "real men wear pink" comes from!

Thanks for the kind words guys. It's been a little while since I've added a new one to the collection. Hoping to get back on track with it soon.

I did the same thing with Willie McCovey. Minimum PSA 7, was a lot of fun!

Good call with McCovey. I don't know if I will do another complete run of a different player, but I do like picking up PSA 7s of many NL HOFers. Got a 1972 Clemente coming soon.
