Solved. Dad was innocent, Case breaker was an idiot, he did this to make sorting easier, also put finger prints all over people's cards. Next question. Lol. Too bad you couldn't have asked him WTF he was thinking, but at the time he saw them like we see a box of fleer, so they were a part of some game, stat keeping, etc... How did stratomatic work, did it use cards? I had a game in the early 80's that needed your cards with stats to play, did you have something like that when you were little that he modified this cards for you to play with? Early years are full of lost memories.

Back when I was a teenager, once traded a nice-looking 1965 Topps Yaz for a Tim Raines RC....

One should never trade the Yaz away, but that said Raines is very deserving of the Hall of Fame. If he played middle infield he'd be in, so many voters don't know talent, they know stories, messed up. I knew he was elite when I was young and at no time have I ever thought differently.

ALL FOUR players are scratched out on Gary Carter rookie card, LOL.... I guess there were no winners in that group.

Actually my grandfather was old enough to have tobacco cards. I wish he had collected.
