I'm not back to vintage sets yet, still working on 82-84, then I'll go 80 and 81 and once those are complete, I'll keep working my way down.

Ultimately I'd like to get back to at least '72.

I am casually doing the 1986/87 fleer basketball. Right now I am concentrating on lower end rookies and players that currently work for nba teams.

I'm surprised to see so many working on '72. Why is it so popular? That's what I'm working on as well (birth year). After buying a ton on COMC, I'm mostly just down to high numbers & some stars.

I guess its because the design is so popular and technically has the first topps traded set there too

As for me, maybe a 1969 Topps football set. I have 2 now, one coming, maybe pick up a few more, not too sure though

I'm going to start building my first vintage set soon. 1955 Bowman. Been in love with that set since childhood. I already have the Mantle so most of the heavy lifting is out of the way. Love that it has umpire cards.

This guy looks like Leslie Nielsen

That's awesome. Is it Enrico Palazzo's rookie card?

I know there are a few peeps on here and NET54, that really dig the 1956 Topps set, I decided I am slowly going to try and build it, I don't know if i'll stick with it though.... I find it's a cool set, with all the major stars, no high priced rookie cards, and the cards look great.... since I am a collector and my budget is fairly small, I am going for Fair to VG cards approx

Still working on 1975 psa 8 or better. Anybody else run into a problem when trying to maintain a minimum grade, but constantly running into lesser graded cards that look better than the higher graded ones? Right now there is a psa 7 Winfield on ebay that looks every bit as good as a psa 9.

I'm currently working (slowly) on my 1962-64 Houston Colt 45s in SGC 84 (7) or better. I have a few that look pretty darn good that I need to send in though before I try to find graded cards. They might be 84s themselves.

I use this site and transfer into an excel document.

Then on my graded sets I put in the card I have and the grade it is in. It is easy to know which cards need to be upgraded. Once I have the card in a 10 (or whatever grade I am doing the set in), I delete it from the list. I also add a column for how much I paid. Then If I upgraded, I would have an amount in mind when selling.

Hope that helps,

Rob A.

1965 Topps. Best design of the 60's imo.

I've just decided I'm going to begin the 1957 SGC set. I have one card thus far (Drysdale), so it will be an undertaking.

I'm slowly, and I mean slowly, working on a 1960 Topps PSA 9 or better set.
