Default My dad finds me some yard sale gold!

I decided earlier this year to start to add some vintage to my PC. Been collecting since I was 3 in 1985 and the only real vintage thing I had was a beat up Banks RC.
I wanted to start a list from 75 and back, mainly key RCs and the old greats(Mantle, Williams, Robinson, Clemente, Musial, Mays, Aaron, Banks, Koufax, Gibson). Nothing out of this world, at least psa/bvg/sgc 4s for the pre 1960s stuff or decent priced raw cards. Been picking up a few every payday since January.

Cut to today, I'm at the folks house cutting the grass and my dad comes back from checking out yard sales. He got me into cards but gave up collecting in the mid 90s and has just been doing coins and antiques since. I finish up and he brings me a plastic bag with a binder and 400 count box. Says the guy wanted $50 for the binder and $50 for the box but he talked him down to $80 for both.

The newest stuff that I didn't take pics of was from 1993, some Chipper, Larkin, Bo Jackson RCs and 80s/90s Reds stuff. The rest that I took pics of(I'll post them in the next post), I think was quite a haul for $80.

Your dad did an excellent job! Great to see that there are still some treasures out there like this, just waiting to be bought. Thanks for sharing!

I tried to purchase a similar lot off of Craigs List and the guy wanted one million dollars or would trade for a Harley.

Great cards!!!

Strange that someone crossed out Mickey Mantle on the Killebrew/May/Mantle card...

Why couldn't your dad be my dad? Great cards you ended up with there!

Incredible. That '61 will be worth a good bit after grading. It looks to be in great shape. I'm very jelly.

Thanks for all the kind words. Not looking to get rid of any of it yet.

For future reference, is there a simple way to make Photobucket pictures a little smaller when uploading? Have a bunch of ungraded vintage that I've been picking up from the lcs since January that I'd like to get some opinions on. Also is a scanner the only good way to get slabbed vintage pictures? Every one I take with a camera has bad glare or reflections, just can't seem to get a clean picture.

that's insane..

LOVE the Maravich cards. I'm reading some NBA books to my son (Jerry West right now) but have done Bird/Magic and Pistol also.

I'd be interested in the West/Maravich if you're selling.

Very nice. I looked at this last night on my phone and with the small screen, I thought you had a ton of graders. Now on my computer screen, not as nice. Still an awesome find.

yeah the clemente is the only grader in the group. if the marino was centered better i'd send it in. most of my potential graders have come from the LCS. Picked up a decent mccovey rc today and a nice bench rc a few weeks ago. I'll post some pictures of them when I get a chance.
