Default 1952 Bowman Mantle Shiller Alert for Probstein123?

Look at item 370917278271 which is for a 1952 Bowman Mantle BVG 4.5 sold for $686 on 10/21 to buyer 1***a. Amazingly that same buyer is bidding on the same auction today 370940311656 (high bidder). Has an 84% bid rate on his auctions. HMMMMMMMMMMMMM Something looks way wrong and there are several other auctions of his with the same situation. Hope i'm wrong but that is just way too blatant. Isn't he a member on these boards? :turkey:

Yes Rick is a member on here and most card forums. He does not give a rats ass about shillers because it just makes him more money. I quit bidding on his listings a long time ago.

Edit: Bravo for Rick he actually canceled the shill bid from the cards consigner.

I'm putting together a 52 Bowman psa graded set (6's and 7's) and notice Rick has alot of stuff I'm needing. I've pretty much seen cards sell for about the same price but certain cards go for waaaay more than historical numbers go for. The only thing I can come up with is some shill activity. Basically, what I want to pay is what I bid, not a penny more. Since his stuff is mostly consignment I'm guessing anyway, I could see how the owner of the cards would sometimes get some shill activity going, and as many auctions as he runs, probably be very hard for him to notice.

it is WIDELY known that he is not a legit seller. When youre LCS brings his questionable auctions to youre attention with doubts, probably a good idea to stay FAR AWAY.Ebay doesnt hold the prestige of say MASTRO's auctions so i doubt anyone will ever spend the time and money to prosecute him.Shame really

I've scored many many many great deals from his listings............He does consignments. ALOT of them. He has to have different people listing them as many as he has. How would he possibly be able to police the bids the items receive? How easy would it be to see how legitimate they are or aren't? What's stopping any other Auction house on having the same problem?

Cards are cards. Should we call cards from the early 90's and before "PAPER" cards?

It's possible he had a non-paying bidder, and relisted.

Otherwise looks like shill bidding.

All consignments can have shill bids its part of the deal. I think Rick will make things right if brought to attention as he did here.
