Default Are the Blowout Boards one of the bigger vintage sites?

I scan through the posts on many of Blowouts various message boards, and is Blowout one of the bigger Vintage boards? Are there buyers of the multi thousand dollar graded cards you see in magazines here, and if not, what message boards are the bigger ones for vintage?

Some of the players might be here but there are other sites with people who only deal in vintage.

What are those other sites? Really getting into vintage especially National Chicle, but this is mostly a newer card site.

Thanks. Do people do a lot of buying and selling on those sites?

There is a lot on Net54 but it is heavier activity on pre-WWII cards

Net54 is a great vintage site but be prepared for a lot of "random per war card" PSA 4 goes for $200 but my card is so much nicer than any other PSA 4 and I want $250

A board member runs a forum can't remember what it is.

I guess I never noticed that...I keep missing out on Tigers. Must be comparable to a 7 page bump Quicksale here.

Both forums are equally annoying in that way but both have their positives and some really cool people

If you'd rather deal with mature adults minus the drama, etc, etc......net54 is by far the best forum, hands-down.

Blowout vintage is probably the smallest community actually.

CU (psa forums) have really gone more toward 70's and 80s unopened material these days. It used to be a great community but these days its more of a constant BBCE appreciation thread. If you like unopened, its the place to be. If the actual cards in the packs are your thing. it leaves a lot to be desired. The moderators are a little quick to ban folks too. I made some critical comments on some PSA practices and how they handled certain situations and got banned. Very silly.

Net54 has great members and is a very mature place. Lot of very very passionate collectors there. If you like pre war, there is no better place. Some great threads about 50s and such as well but mostly a t206/pre war focus.

Thanks for the info guys. Net54 is a very cool vintage site. Nowhere near Blowout for newer stuff, but yes, some very nice pre-war stuff there

I am guessing one of the big differences is also age. Most of us on Net54 are 40+ yrs old and this site caters to the much younger crowd.

Us older guys usually stick with the older cards that maintain or gradually increase in price. The younger crowd tend to highly over pay for rookie cards that 99.9% of the time will be worth less than 1% of what they paid for them in 10 years. It has been this way for the 25+ years I have been in the hobby.

Both ways have there ups and downs and as long as you enjoy what you collect that is all that matters.

Net54 is where I got to buy/sale vintage stuff. But to be honest, I don't typically sell a ton of vintage because it goes for so cheap. Most of the middle of the road grade vintage stuff only goes about 10-12% of BV.

Vintage just doesn't move for a whole bunch right now. Even in my store, I only sell vintage for 25% of BV most of the time. I don't deal in graded stuff, so have never tried to sell/buy graded.
