Default Ernie "MR. CUB" Banks PC & Pickups!

My newest additions from another collector from IL.

A few Bonus cards from him, not Vintage but still grateful for them.

And... few others I've had for a little while now.

Love the colors on the 64' Stand ups!

One of my Favorites from when I got to meet him in person. Took me awhile to pick which card to sign. Great Guy, Didn't think he would stay HOURS over what he was supposed to at his age. He did though and signed for everyone in line. Went with the 55' Topps. Here it is.

Check out many others!

Awesome stuff! I too collect Banks. Just met him for the third time at Cub Convention in January. Still talkative ole' Ernie. I love collecting him because he is just a happy person when you get to chat with him. He wants to know who you are, what you do and what your marital status is. He enjoys life and its really great to see.

There is a cool youtube video of him at a Pearl Jam concert at Wrigley, check it out if you haven't seen it!

I haven't seen that, I will definitely check it out. I met him 2 years ago at AAA cubs affiliate game signing. Had my fiance there and she took picture for me then made the picture into my at work mouse pad. I look at that everyday and I'm so glad to have met him. Wish I could say the same for Ron Santo but unfortunately didn't get the chance. Maybe I'll get chance someday to meet Billy. Thanks for the YouTube info I will enjoy that. Happy collecting, feel free to add your photos, would love to see yours.

Nice collection Chad, just got a chance to look through your bucket. Really jealous on the Rc, double header, greatest moments, and signed memorabilia (especially the #14). Great stuff.

I really enjoyed viewing all of the great items in your PC. As a single player collector I can really appreciate the time it took to pick up some of the odd-ball items.

Love it; keep em' coming!

Thanks guys, I'm really glad others enjoy that oddball stuff. I seem to have contracted an addiction to anything oddball AFTER going to National this year. Not sure how that happened?? Hey mark do you have thread for your player PC? If so would love to have a look.

That Home run derby card is something truly amazing. Most on here would be suprised what these are worth.

You HARDLY ever see them online up for auction. Very special card!

That HR Derby card though, man you have a hell of a wife!!!!!!!

Congrats on the amazing collection, and keep it up!

In regards to the 1959 HR Derby card, only 23 have been graded by PSA to this date......that's incredible you have one of the 23! Man that's cool

Going to the National will definitely do it to you! I was unable to go to the National last year, but hopefully will be able to attend this year in IL. The odd-ball stuff has to be my favorite and in my case as well as likely in Banks case is some of the most expensive items when they do show up for sale.

I don't have a thread for my player PC. Shoot, I'm "lucky" to post a single picture of something. Maybe someday I'll get better at the forum and computer thing, but in the meantime I'm looking at Brett's (Bhenry4) Brooks Robinson collection (he needs to post more stuff!) since we collect the same player. I don't really collect the newer cards, even though I do pick up a few now and them that look nice.

By the way do you collect all things related to Banks or just cards?

Regards,

Mark

Thanks guys, I was very surprised at Christmas to find that after opening the 69' Pros Pizza Santo. Ill have to say something to the guy who sold it to her on net54. Glad you guys are enjoying the thread, I'll keep them coming when I can.

Hey Mark, yeah I collect anything Banks- I really need a 71 Mattel little record. I think they are fairly cheap, just a little harder to find than TOPPS. I enjoy how they made stuff like records, tee n ball sets, tattoos, decals, pins, statue (still need 50's Hartland). I love that stuff now that I got the TOPPS run down. I also collect anything signed with the exception of new cards. I like old photos or items of age signed. I'll have to check out Bretts collection. You gotta make the National and those who haven't been- make it a must! I promise you won't be disappointed. I'll be going again this year since in IL. We made trek to Cleveland last year.

Firerunner- wow 23 graded and I happened to get one. Thank you that is very awesome to hear. I'm not currently PSA member so had no idea. I like using Sgc, even though I'm not big on the new labels. Look Boring to me...

Bo27- thanks for advice! Honestly haven't tried to mess with them too much but that is great idea. Maybe get them in and retake some photos.

Well thanks guys, glad your enjoying the Banks PC. Always up for show and sell if you got something not in here.
