Default 1951 Bowman Ted Williams VG-EX? thoughts...

I picked this up on COMC a few weeks ago at what I feel was a decent price. Not sure if I wanted to bring it home to add a bit of history to my modern collection or resell. In comparison to the other 2 Good to VG-EX cards on COMC, the card doesnt seem in that shape, Id say more Fair. What are your thoughts?

If graded, it would come back a 1, 1.5 at best. Round corners, rough bottom edge, darkening, and a crease across the whole card hold it back. You paid right around what its worth, but on the high side. PSA 3's can be had for around $125.

I thought so. It may end up a souvenir. Sold a port and got some nice PC items...kinda went random with this but at 70 bux, not bad. Im sure if I submitted for a condition review again it would come back Poor to Fair.

That is a PSA 2 (Good). The crease across the card makes it a 2. A card has to be beat to hell to get a 1. If it had 2 very strong, large creases, that would put it in the fair category.

Well thats not too bad, I also don't see the crease on the back well which may be good news. Thanks for your thoughts as well.

My Clemente RC got a 1.5 cause of 2 small spider wrinkles.

Does that being 15 years newer (in vintage age) graded on a tougher scale?

its only 4 years newer. And to your question, yes, they grade newer stuff a little tougher, but for most vintage, pre 1975, i would say that they are pretty consistent with how they grade. Like I said, my clemente got a 1.5 because of a few spider wrinkles that dont show through to the back. It also hurts that the wrinkles go right across his face. They look at creases and wrinkles worse if its across the players face.
