If the conditions are nice, you might have something good.

I'd love to get a set of the 4's cut just right and have a set of 10's. I don't think I would sell them.

Here are the best of the first box and a half. After the scans I don't like the Seaver, Winn, or Clear.

Any chance you could trade or sell 2 sets of Box Bottoms?

I'm on my phone, but from what I can see, the Seaver and the Gleaton actually look pretty good.

1986 was an off year unfortunately with the best RC I think being Vince Coleman, but it does have some nice cards of HOF players like Wade Boggs, Tony Gwynn, Cal Ripken Jr., Ryne Sandberg, Nolan Ryan, Rickey Henderson, and a few others, 'tho none as an ungraded single worth more than $1 generally speaking.

However, due to the black borders, they're condition sensitive, so it's a great case to have from that perspective for those looking eventually for high grade cards.

I've been lurking on here a while but had to sign up and post because I just got done opening 3 86 wax boxes I got off Craigslist. I have to say those cards are better than anything I pulled. Most of mine had a rough surface on them. Not to mention I lost two cards because of the wax and gum. And the gum actually affected the second card in as well sometimes, including a perfectly centered Ryan card.

I was originally planning on just opening to complete high quality sets and enjoy that tedium I haven't experienced in a while. I also bought a bunch of 87-90 wax boxes as well but after seeing the quality of the 86 and 87 cards I opened I'm going to sell the rest at a garage sale this weekend. I only paid about $5 a box for what I have left so I might be able to make a couple bucks. If not, I'll just open them and see what I get. Plus after 3 wax boxes I'm still 50 cards short of a set. I'm going to go with rack cases instead.

Good luck with the rest of your opening.
