Hey Guys and Gals...Tom here from Plymouth, MI (between Comerica Park and the Big House).
Been out of the game for probably 30 years now and looking to get back into it. I am trying to start over in the hobby and focus mostly on baseball cards and TTM.

I once possessed a very nice TTM collection which included the likes of Greenberg, Gerhinger, Mays, Feller, and many other great HOFers. But after a stint in the US Army, I returned tho find that it had been pillaged by young nephews and then burglars (I used to live in Detroit). Also the hobby was not in a good place when I returned, not to mention I had other priorities.

So here I am at 47 with a collection that can't even stand up to most 7 year olds, but at least now I have more money than most 7 year olds, maybe I can rebuild.

At any rate, thanks for letting me into your little group, hope to learn some things and catch up as fast as I can afford to.

Welcome to the boards! Did you frequent "The Old Ball Park" LCS in Livonia as a young collector?

Welcome!

My mom is a fellow Michigander, from Lake Orion.

Glad to hear you are dipping back in to the hobby. Best of luck to you! (:

HAHA...I practically lived at The Old Ball Park. I got more autographs there than I can remember..Kaline, Freehan, Harwell, Trammell to name a few. I lived right off of 5 mile, but about 8 nmiles east of Merriman where that great LCS was. Thanks for bringing back a great memory.

Yea, that place was the best! I lived at 6 mile & Beech Daly and we would ride our bikes there a couple times a week. They were great for player signings. I used to sort vending cases for them and get paid in store credit. Really helped the card budget! I ended up working at another LCS in Madison Heights for someone that had worked there.

Welcome to the boards Tom! I live in Brighton, so we're not all that far apart. Have you even been to the Sunday show at the VFW in Redford?
