RE: Update to Previous Notice of Data Breach

As an update to the previous notice dated April 24, 2017, we are providing additional information regarding:

  • the completion of actions we have taken to secure credit cards used on our website; and

  • our offer to provide you with 1 year of identity theft protection provided by Experian, a service provider we have engaged. The Experian IdentityTheft Works membership is being offered to you at no cost.

It is our intention that the information we provided in the previous notice and in this update help to restore your trust in Blowout Cards. We are committed to maintaining your trust and the security of the information you provide to Blowout Cards. Actions Taken to Secure

As communicated in the previous notice, after discovery of this incident, we immediately launched an investigation to find and eliminate the problem. We quickly identified and eliminated the malware that was the cause of unauthorized access to credit card data. We also engaged two cybersecurity companies to review our website and implement additional technology and monitoring to further enhance the security of our website.

We are confident that the issue that resulted in the breach has been fully resolved and our website is secure.

Steps You Need to Take to Activate the Experian IdentityWorks Services

If you believe there was fraudulent use of your information as a result of this incident and would like to discuss how you may be able to resolve those issues, please reach out to an Experian agent at 877-890-9332. If, after discussing your situation with an agent, it is determined that identity restoration support is needed then an Experian Identity Restoration agent is available to work with you to investigate and resolve each incident of fraud that occurred from the date of the incident (including, as appropriate, helping you with contacting credit grantors to dispute charges and close accounts; assisting you in placing a freeze on your credit file with the three major credit bureaus; and assisting you with contacting government agencies to help restore your identity to its proper condition).
