MLB TO CUT CARD RELEASES AGAIN

by Chris

Feeling evidently 40 baseball releases for two companies is still too many the folks at Major League Baseball and the Player's Association are cutting again. In 2008 instead of 20 trading card series of baseball for Topps and Upper Deck, each company will see their sets reduced by three each to 17. A total of 34 baseball releases hasn't been seen in close to 20 years.

Officials at Baseball feeling they wanted to get it down "to a more reasonable number."

TOPPS ANNOUNCES FIRST DNA CARD: GEORGE WASHINGTON

by Chris

Whether it intended to or not, Topps announced it will basically be the first company to issue what amounts to a DNA card. In the Allen & Ginter Series for this year Topps will include a card with a strand of George Washington's hair! It has long been speculated and joked about but now it looks as if it is finally going to happen; basically a piece of a person or something containing DNA is making its way to a trading card. The company will also issue a Bruce Lee Relic card in the series.
