MiLB Madness: Ending 2025 with eccentric cards & more
-
Minor league baseball cards from the past can include some weird stuff ... sometimes stuff you wouldn't imagine to be found on a baseball card. Here are some some new fun cards and oddities in this latest edition of MiLB Madness.
FORE!
The Card: Nate Alleyne 2017 Grandstand San Jose Giants
The Buzz On This: A clubhouse manager isn't somebody you'll find in MLB sets -- and this month's card isn't even this guy's first (or his last) appearance in this series. This card? It's clearly all about enjoying the natural elements of the golf course on the baseball diamond -- err, about some Photoshop -- while his other card in a past month of this series was all about fire. (OK, it's barbecue ... we can get behind that, too.) Joining these? Drink up this run of cards that reinforce the greatness that is MiLB cardboard with no tie to what it's worth. The best part? His weirdest card is still to come ...Keep reading for more examples of some weird or fun baseball cards (and other stuff) you can find in and around MiLB.

It's always that simple.
YourDozen.com is back with more free cardboard up for grabs to one lucky winner -- this time it's for Sunday NFL action as well as some Majority Rules questions. The end result is still the same -- whomever has the most correct answers once the dust settles wins free cards.
You have until 1 p.m. on Sunday to get your picks in. (Do it now -- one of the tiebreakers is who entered first.) The prize remains a mystery item.

How does it work? It's short and simple. Register and you'll get a dozen questions where your answers will be compiled and compared to others. Whomever gaets the most correct gets the prize -- or at least a shot at it if there's a tie.

Collecting Game-used: I went Bananas landing this new piece

I can't match this gamer to any specific play, but that's not why it's totally appealing.
This month's item in my Collecting Game-used series is my second -- but not my last -- piece of on-field history for the traveling road show and pop culture phenomenon that is the Savannah Bananas baseball team.
What does that mean? Think baseball meets a circus with side helpings of Zubaz-era WWF and some Talladega Nights-style NASCAR bombast -- but with game rules even quirkier than both. (For a taste, click that link.) It fits perfectly in my game-used collection for my player, former World Series winner, MLB All-Star, first-round draft pick and Moneyball standout Nick Swisher.
