Are you ready for some football? Buzz picks five NFL Draft rips

If you hadn't noticed, there are a number of boxes with discounted prices right now right here as the newly launched Blowout Cards NFL Draft Supersale is here.

A few of them caught Buzz's attention with their potential ... here are some picks from that group in the sale that just dropped ahead of the NFL Draft next week.

BOWMAN'S BEST OF BOTH WORLDS
2022 Bowman's Best University hobby box & eight-box case
The newest box in the big sale is one with a lot of potential between guys who are set to be drafted soon -- or perhaps later -- as well as cards and autos from guys who are already in the NFL. How is this possible? NIL deals that let players show up on cards well before draft time -- and that makes it one with a longer shelf life in terms of potential. Who's in here? Among the already-pro names are C.J. Stroud, Jahmyr Gibbs, Bryce Young, Anthony Richardson, Jordan Addison, Bijan Robinson, Will Anderson and Jaxon Smith-Njigba for starters. Among the 2024 draft hopefuls and potential future picks? Caleb Williams, Bo Nix, J.J. McCarthy, Blake Corum, Jordan Travis, D.J. Uiagalelei, Dallas Turner, J.C. Latham, Kool-Aid McKinstry and Taulia Tagovailoa to name a few. There are autos for a lot -- it not all -- of them in both insert sets and standard ink as well as a small lineup of rarer dual- and triple-auto cards, too. (There's heat here -- especially when slabbed.) The best part here beyond all of the parallel and potentially Super finds in play are two autographs in every single box. Cases should also be considered here, too.

Keep reading for a few more boxes you should consider (and are likely to end up in Buzz's cart).

LOOK AT THE DETAILS ...
2017 Donruss mega box & 20-box case
Buzz busted a number of these back in the day and it wasn't unheard of to land something of note here, whether it's a rare serial-numbered parallel or hit (auto/mem) of some type in part thanks to one detail. Read that red box down low ... three bonus 10-card hobby packs in every box. They aren't barren hobby packs, either, as I landed a Mitchell Trubisky jersey number RC parallel (/10) in one of mine back then. Why rip here? Rookie Cards for Patrick Mahomes, T.J. Watt, Christian McCaffrey, Cooper Kupp, Dalvin Cook, Myles Garrett, Alvin Kamara, Aaron Jones and others. Parallels and plenty of inserts are in play, too, with past and present players. Thanks to hobby packs, though your odds aren't there with the volume, it's all potentially in play here.

PLAY IT SAFE ... WITH A GUARANTEED HIT, TOO
2017 Panini Donruss factory set
Now, if you don't want to take any risks with the previous one, there's this option -- the simple factory set -- and it includes a bonus hit (jersey card) in a pack wrapped around the set. Among those players? Mahomes and a bunch of those rookies mentioned before -- a one in 40 shot at any player. This one guarantees you all the RCs that are key here ... as safe as it gets.

A THROWBACK
2015 Topps Chrome hobby box & 12-box case
Beyond the one Chrome rookie auto per box there are variations to chase here on a ton of cards -- both retired stars from the NFL's past on some cards (for example, card No. 100 has three ... a basic Peyton Manning, a variation Manning and a John Elway) and then variations on a lot of the rookies with different photos. There's, of course, an array of Chrome rainbows for everything, too, and some nods to the past that also include ink as part of the 60th anniversary of Topps with the NFL back then. That gives this already stacked lineup even more star power from the past while the rookie crop is probably not as hot as it once was but it includes a number of past notables ... Todd Gurley, Amari Cooper, Tyler Lockett and Jameis Winston for starters. At its present price, thanks to the rare cards potentially still in there, it's worth the look.

ANOTHER SAFE PICK
2015 Topps Field Access hobby box & 12-box case
This one has some guarantees at a lower price and that's why it makes the cut from me. It's more of a Stadium Club-style release with a set that has a small lineup of Hall of Famers such as Barry Sanders, Jerry Rice, Brett Favre, Dan Marino, Emmitt Smith, John Elway and Peyton Manning to name a few, while the basic rookie presence isn't really there ... so that's a little riskier than some releases (but they are among the autos). The key, though? There's an autograph in every pack and there's a boatload of notables with some type of ink here across all of the insert autos as well as standard ones. A number of them are obviously going to be rarer but they include Andrew Luck, Barry Sanders, Dwight Clark, Eli Manning, Franco Harris, Jerry Rice, Jameis Winston, Amari Cooper, Kurt Warner, Len Dawson, LaDainian Tomlinson, Lawrence Taylor, Peyton Manning, Tim Brown, Terry Bradshaw, Travis Kelce, Brett Favre, Dan Marino, Deion Sander, Emmitt Smith, Howie Long, John Elway, Steve Young, Rob Gronkowski, J.J. Watt, Russell Wilson, Reggie Bush, Drew Brees, Adam Vinatieri, Jimmy Garoppolo ... with parallels and even printing plates in play. Now, that's a lot of huge names ... and there are a lot of not-huge autos in here, too ... but they're in there. Your best shot at the big stuff is probably by the case but you never know what a single pack here might yield.
