A MONSTER HITS THE AUCTION BLOCK
The Item:
Honus Wagner 1909 T206 Sweet Caporal back -- "The Garagiola Wagner" (SGC Authentic)
The Price: $1,625,000 after 35 bids (ends Feb. 28)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: I’ll spare you the historic lore of this card -- hit the link for Heritage’s full recap of this one’s place in history -- but you should know that this one is already over halfway to its estimated $3M sale price in the wake of some modern cards making big headlines with big prices last year. Sure, this one is a low-grade copy -- but it’s real -- and this particular card was once owned by former MLB player. It was "the prized possession of baseball icon Joe Garagiola, whose nine seasons of Major League play was followed by decades of elite achievement as a broadcaster.” How did he get it? "Garagiola's son informed us that his dad's 1954 Giants uniform was part of the package he traded for this holiest of hobby grails,” Heritage said.

MODERN TREASURES
The Item:
Kobe Bryant 2017-18 Panini Kobe Eminence Black Mamba Moments Diamond Autographs set (26 cards)
The Price: $52,500 after two bids (ends Feb. 28)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This is one of three Bryant autograph sets from this release currently on the auction block -- yes, all at once -- with all firmly estimated to reach into the strong six-figures before the auction action is over. This one? It’s the cheapest of the three right now as it’s the smallest of the trio. Each card here is signed, has an embedded diamond in the card and is limited to only 10 serial-numbered copies. “Each card reflects not only statistical greatness but emotional gravity, whether it's his MVP season, Olympic gold, or his farewell tour, each moment is carefully selected and immortalized in one of Panini's most luxurious formats,” Heritage said. "The use of gold ink over black backgrounds, paired with platinum detailing and a real diamond, transforms every card into a museum-worthy piece of sports art."

HIS FIRST
The Item:
Cooper Flagg 2025 game-worn Dallas Mavericks Jersey -- photo-matched to his preseason debut
The Price: $40,000 after four bids (ends Feb. 28)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: If you’re into early memorabilia, there’s not much on the pro front that can top this one -- the No. 1 pick’s first piece of preseason gear. This Summer League jersey is from the Mavericks' 87-85 win over the Lakers on July 10, 2025, at the NBA 2K26 Summer League in Las Vegas. "This marks the first NBA jersey ever worn by Flagg in live game action," said Heritage, "making it a foundational piece from the opening chapter of his professional career.” Atop that, he only played two Summer League games ... so there’s not likely much competition for early stuff like this. This is estimated to sell for around $150,000.

MAKING A SPLASH
The Item:
Jim Lee & Scott Williams X-Men No. 11 double splash page original art (Marvel, 1992)
The Price: $130,000 after 51 bids (ends Feb. 27)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This duo’s work helped define an era and this spread for the ultimate reboot book of the time features several iconic takes on memorable characters one has seen in the books and on the big screen. Among them in this poster-style spread are Psylocke, Cyclops, Jubilee, Rogue Gambit, Beast and Wolverine on this piece and it’s far from the only notable item among the Heritage art auction -- it’s loaded and not for the faint of heart. A number of modern-day masterpieces are in there along with some old classics that remain iconic to this day.
