AS SUPER AS IT GETS
The Item: Superman No. 1 (DC, 1939) -- CGC 9.0
The Price: $2,850,000 after 97 bids (ends Nov. 20)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This is one of those finds that makes headlines early on and then will make an even bigger one once it's sold -- and that's happening later this month. Only 209 copies of this iconic and massive first issue have been graded by CCG and only 93 of those are un-restored or without other grading caveats. Of the 93 graded, nothing tops this copy. It's the lone CGC 9 and there's only one 8.5, one 8.0, two 7.0s and everything else is single-digits until you get down to CGC 1.5 ... so this one is as elite as it gets. "This copy represents the pinnacle of comic collecting," reads the Heritage listing. "Not only is this the highest-graded unrestored copy Heritage has ever offered, but it also holds the top position on the CGC census, outranking the likes of several esteemed pedigreed copies including the Mile High and Davis Crippen copies." The 8.0 sold for $5.3 million in 2022 and Heritage sold a 7.0 copy for $2.34 million last year. It survived all these years in an attic of a California home and will easily set a new sales record before it finds a new home.

LEGENDARY
The Item: The Legend of Zelda (NES R, Water Screenshot, Third Production, Nintendo 1987) -- PSA 9.8 (A++ Sealed)
The Price: $52,500 after 52 bids (ends Nov. 21)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: Many of us -- most of us -- had this one if we were around a Nintendo back then ... but few of us left them unopened and that's just part of the legend status here. "Few offerings in video game collecting carry the weight and significance of this one," reads the auction listing. "The Legend of Zelda is not only a cornerstone of the NES library but also one of the most-coveted titles among collectors presented here in one of the rarest variants, the water screenshot. No changes were made to the front cover, but the back features a key difference. The ladder screenshot used on first and second prints was replaced with a water screenshot. This updated image appears on all subsequent prints, distinguishing this version as a turning point in the game's early production history. ... According to PSA/Wata's September 2025 population report, only eight copies of this variant are recorded, with this example standing alone at the top as the highest graded. It also holds the distinction of being the earliest 9.8 A++ example of Zelda ever graded -- meaning no first- or second-print copies have reached this level of perfection."

EVER WANTED A ROCKWELL?
The Item: "I Will Do My Best" by Norman Rockwell (1945 oil on canvas -- 39 x 28 inches)
The Price: $100,000 opening bid (ends Nov. 14)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: The $2.4-billion Boy Scouts of America Settlement Trust is raising money to go to more than 80,0oo survivors of abuse on its watch and one way that is happening is via auctions of iconic art assets. This Rockwell is among them and it "stands as one of Norman Rockwell's most iconic tributes to the Boy Scouts of America and the ideals they represent. The young scout, standing tall with hand raised in solemn pledge, personifies integrity, discipline, and devotion to country and faith. Behind him, Rockwell inscribes the timeless words of the Scout Oath, transforming the composition into both portrait and creed -- a visual testament to moral strength and youthful resolve. Few images so powerfully encapsulate the spirit of scouting and the virtues that define the American character." It's one of several BSA pieces and a few Rockwells up for grabs this month.

POW!
The Item: Batman Day-Glo British Quad 30-by-40 on linen (20th Century Fox, 1966)
The Price: $1,900 after five bids (ends Nov. 20)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This piece simply commands attention with its color and dynamic depictions of the caped crusader and others in his orbit. "Step into the vivid day-glo charm of this British quad for the 1966 Batman film, a beloved slice of retro cinema that brought the caped crusader (Adam West) and his trusty sidekick Robin (Burt Ward) to life in dazzling color under the direction of Leslie H. Martinson," reads the auction listing. "Bursting with vibrant hues, groovy tunes, and the signature camp of the swinging '60s, the film captured the playful spirit of the TV series while pitting Batman and Robin against a rogues' gallery including Catwoman (Lee Meriwether), The Joker (Cesar Romero), The Penguin (Burgess Meredith), and The Riddler (Frank Gorshin)." The piece is restored with light touchup and airbrushing work but remains impressive. It's estimated to go as high as $6,000.

A PIECE OF POTTER
The Item: Life-size Dobby theater display figure for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Warner Bros., 2002, with Heritage certification)
The Price: $105 after two bids (ends Dec. 1)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: He stands more than two feet tall and is a polyurethane resin figure of Dobby the House Elf "with expressive facial features, large green resin eyes, and characteristic fabric smock affixed to a plexiglass base." These were created for theaters and if he's not enough there's a Gollum up for grabs, too. That one's a little creepier and both are being sold as part of The Actors Auction benefitting the SAG-AFTRA Foundation -- see it all here.
