Black November Wave 3 is here … and here are five I'd grab
This entry was posted on November 14, 2020
.If you hadn't noticed, there are a number of boxes with discounted prices right now right here as Blowout Cards' Black November sales are going strong with Wave 3 recently dropping.
Many of the discounts are dramatic enough that Buzz once again had to sit down and ponder the possibilities in many of the boxes and cases -- and here are five boxes/cases that caught this collector’s eye ... and there's far more that just might suit your tastes in the big sale.

MORE THAN JUST MOOKIE ...
2014 Topps Heritage High Number MLB sets and cases
There was a time when these sets were super-affordable and pretty cheap considering they are loaded with Rookie Cards and include an autograph in every box, too. Then Mookie Betts blew up and so did these as people wanted one of his better RCs and a shot at his ink -- he's in there -- but he's also not alone. Here are some of the RCs that have had their ups and downs but are still in here every time -- Masahiro Tanaka, James Paxton, Randal Grichuk, Billy Hamilton, Joe Panik, Jacob deGrom, George Springer, Xander Bogaerts, Kyle Hendricks (his only RC), Yordano Ventura, Kolten Wong, Jose Ramirez, Betts and reigning American League MVP Jose Abreu. It's a pretty strong lineup on one of the best Topps vintage designs, 1965 Topps, if you ask me. Autographs can be found with red ink (/10) atop the normal ones. and that lineup does include Abreu, deGrom, Betts, Springer, Ramirez, Nick Castellanos, Oscar Tavaras, Taijuan Walker, Ventura and a number of other players.
Keep reading for a few more boxes you should consider (and are likely to end up in Buzz's cart).
GOLDIE, WHERE ARE YOU?
2018 Topps WWE Road To Wrestlemania hanger pack boxes & lots
This is one, for whatever reason, I bought a lot of back in the day and whenever I open a lid of a storage box and see a run of these base cards I give it the 1990 Donruss treatment ... I just close the lid and move onto the next box. So, then why is this a pick here? Well, the autographed cards -- all on-card sigs -- are solid finds and there's one genuine WWE oddity that's a super-rare card that was done just once and won't likely be done again. It's a card so rare -- just 36 cards across the basic card and then two parallels -- I haven't seen one pop up since when this one arrived. What is it? It's the Goldust autographed kiss card. Just 25 copies exist for the regular card, 10 for a parallel and then one for a 1/1 edition. Hits are longshot finds here but I can't help but wonder if some of the kiss cards that are found in hangers are sometimes those of this super-memorable and unique veteran star who's working for WWE's competition now. I doubt we'll see him on any WWE cardboard anytime soon, but the son of a Hall of Famer is one himself ... someday. This is easily one of his best cards ... and could be a name-your-price item if made available. (I'm tempted to grab a lot knowing the odds are rough here but the ink in this one is also strong. Another big key? It seems hobby boxes are long, long gone for this release.)

TONS OF SURPRISE POTENTIAL
2013 Sport Kings Series F boxes & cases
If you collect everything or like to dabble and don't mind unusual (and sometimes more-valuable) cardboard that's not from the four main sports, this one is a box that's cheap with some good potential -- and it's also got a pair of case sizes where you can dig in for even more ... or a ton more. I'm going to rattle off a number of the signers here so you can get a taste of what's possible ... Cristiano Ronaldo, Bill Parcells, Carl Lewis, Clyde Drexler, Gordie Howe, Kerri Strug, Mariano Rivera, Ric Flair, Shaquille O'Neal, Scottie Pippen and the 1972 Miami Dolphins even have their own sets here with Bob Griese, Don Shula and many others from that squad in the mix. There are also cut auto sets of team owners and executives as well as other sports legends. There are also painting cards, Body of Work memorabilia cards that are accented by artists' sketches of athletes and plenty of memorabilia -- also for stars who may not have a lot of that stuff just like their ink. You get one hit per box here along with three base cards and an insert so it's not a lot of volume per box but there's big potential.

WANT A WEIRD ONE?
2018 Super Break Pieces of the Past Hybrid Edition 10-box case (with 1/1 promo pack)
If you like history, non-sports and some pop culture all in one place this is a release to consider. It's weird -- I've said it before -- but you get memorabilia cards with pieces of signed documents, shots at autographs and other types of memorabilia cards here. While newer and other related releases kind of sometimes stretch what I'd like to see in cards as memorabilia, this one limits things a bit with three types of mem cards in every box -- a stamp card, a news-clipping card and a Pieces of the Past (typically document) card in every box along with some base cards. The case route here gets you a 1/1 promo pack that has potential for some interesting stuff, too. A lot of the hits here are cheap out there but all it takes is one or two unique ones and you can have something that could pay for a few boxes, maybe everything. I've opened a couple of these boxes here and gotten some interesting and weird cards but nothing big ... but when the price on a case is cheap that's when dabbling should be done.

KEEP IT SIMPLE ...
2020 Tristar Hidden Treasures Autographed Mini Helmet Series 2 box
Want to go the gift route or pop a box that won't have as much complications inside? Try one of these -- a signed mini-helmet in every box and that's it ... unless you find a Touchdown Treasure ticket along with a helmet that's good for even more stuff. It'd be pretty sweet to land a Patrick Mahomes or Barry Sanders mini for that price ... and it can happen. The array of what's possible here is also a lot wider than what you see on the box here. These types of products can be fun when you need a break from ripping a bunch of packs or just want to take your collecting niche a little different direction beyond just cardboard.
