Book It, Buzz: Landing The Man for less than $10? Yep ...

For years now, autographed books coming direct from the publishers -- or direct from the authors themselves -- have been an affordable way to collect ink from notable names in all realms of pop culture.

It's not a perfect system with stamped autos, fakes and autopens sometimes in the mix -- a problem for publishers to catch as they are not authenticators -- but thanks to dedicated collectors on the Blowout Cards Forum and elsewhere, those problems often get caught and fixed ... or at least become well-known enough to avoid if it's an issue that goes uncorrected.

Getting ink in-person is always best -- book tours still happen, of course -- but landing autographed editions from publishers, online sellers or celebs themselves via their websites or other appearances are common.

Our latest subject and autograph in this ongoing series? Multi-time WWE champion Becky Lynch.

Why it’s Buzz-worthy:
This isn't my typical kind of book -- or should I say average kind of book given the title -- I'd pick off for this series, but it's here for a different reason than one might expect. (I collect too much WWE and I intentionally keep it elsewhere among the monthly departments.) But, when this arrived as my mystery signed book as an order add-on for an added fee, well, it was an impressive find that needed to go into this spot this month. Why? While she's always signed a simple letters/symbol-style autograph and that may limit the appeal of her signed stuff, Lynch is one of just seven women in WWE to be a "grand slam champion" -- meaning she's held every top belt so far. She was also among the first women to main event Wrestlemania when she won two singles titles in a three-way match with Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey in 2019. Her persona as The Man truly arrived before that, though, after she was accidentally punched in the face, suffering a broken nose and concussion and kept going, turning that crimson mask moment into gold -- see more of that accident here. She's also branched out into pop culture with upcoming TV/film projects that include spots in the casts of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy and Happy Gilmore 2, so she'll be seen more than on the typical wrestling shows soon.

Why this item: I figured the mystery add-on would be a good choice to go with a different book I ordered to help play catch-up here -- since this series didn't appear here last month -- but I did not expect anything on the par of this one in terms of a good name within a genre, but I'll take it at a sliver of the cover price. It's a win -- and you're likely not finding any of her plentiful cards for less than $10, either.

Chase ink on cards: Simply put, there's plenty -- I've pulled many, so that's why this book was never, ever on my radar -- and, in fact, thanks to parallels on all those certified autos she appears on more than 650 different signed cards since her arrival on cardboard in 2015. Her earlier autos (mostly pre-stickers) are a little sharper with the logo and can have extra adornments but for the most part the bookplate here is what you can expect on pretty much most cards these days, too. The cheapest auto of hers on COMC, for example, is $49.25, while eBay BINs are more around the $50 mark as well ... so this price was solid with a bigger auto than a sticker that might even look a little better.

The Bottom Line: This ink -- a lock as a future WWE Hall of Famer -- from essentially a mystery box? That's a win.
