What's Buzz-worthy: This is a retail-only release this year and it's one that includes 10 short-printed rookies who will only be found once per case. That's admittedly a bit of a bummer that, to me, hurts the fun grade when you see the list -- Deon Cain, Josh Rosen, Calvin Ridley, Marcus Davenport, Sam Darnold, Roquan Smith, Dallas Goedert, Ray-Ray McCloud, Minkah Fitzpatrick and Christian Kirk. That nixes a few names I'd want reasonably being inside a box. The rookies in this particular box? I'll let you decide but they didn't wow me. The design of this one is slightly similar to last season though its design is definitely more focused on showcasing players than giving really strong photos a ride like last year with tighter crops and a design that adds elements into the image. The hits coming one per box is a definite plus this year -- frankly, I think it's mandatory in today's environment (even if photo-shoot jerseys) -- and the variety of inserts here was good as well as the volume. It was a comfortable rip, but the SP rookies may make chasing guys via busting packs a little less fun -- while also helping make them a little more valuable. The Blue parallels are only found in Walmart blasters, while Targets get Red. You can also find Green in hangers and Purple in the jumbo packs. I like the white edges on the card fronts here but the card backs are pretty dark but relatively complete. I like the feel of this one in a lot of ways and I think other collectors will, too.
