What's Buzz-worthy: With one of TV's biggest hit shows airing its series finale tonight (8 p.m Eastern, CBS) I figured I'd revisit a pair of The Big Bang Theory boxes for breaks today -- and this older release delivered huge to start things off. The two types of hits are each stated to arrive one per box, meaning one auto and one wardrobe card in a typical box of this one. This box started off with a Sheldon Cooper-style rant when my first hit was a Wil Wheaton autograph. The Cooper arch-nemesis has appeared in a number of episodes and I had figured that he had several Star Trek autograph cards -- but I was wrong. He has just three for Trek, this one and ink from an appearance on The Guild. That's it. Once I realized that, I had a different reaction and this box took a tick upward. Then my next hit was the dual -- a fun surprise as those aren't found in every box -- and then I hit the Penny (what?!) and then a Leonard (seriously). The Wheaton and the Penny pay for the box themselves and the rest is gravy. The first release before this one is the best bet to land ink for notables such as Penny, Sheldon Cooper, Leonard Hofstadter, Howard Wolowitz or Raj Koothrappali, but those boxes are pricey (likely long-gone as many were ripped) and tougher to find now. (Amy Farrah Fowler and Bernadette Rostenkowski-Wolowitz autographs arrived in this one.) This one includes those main characters on rarer (but not impossible) autographed wardrobe cards along with standard autos from a number of regulars and guests such as LaVar Burton, Danica McKellar and Rick Fox. Later releases don't have the full main cast rundown -- and they just don't need the money to sign based on past public salary news -- so this one is a hot spot for me to rip. (Later releases have some of the main cast, but not the biggest names.) Just 7,000 boxes were made for this release -- and I will rip another at some point as long as I can find it at the price I paid.
