What's Buzz-worthy: Haven't seen this one? There's probably a reason -- it was made by Topps UK for the European market more than a decade ago and thanks to some memorabilia card inclusions it has a relative cap as to how many boxes were made. What is it? It's a 150-card base set looking at the first four Transformers films with 20 foil short-prints tacked on and that's it ... save for five movie-used memorabilia cards to chase. These boxes were not sold sealed shut like they are here for, well, almost everything, but there are two mem cards in every box so that's a reason to rip as long as the box comes from a trusted dealer. Why's that? The main memorabilia card -- the Optimus Prime sheet metal -- is the only card in that pack every time and it should/could be obvious and it's one of the likely finds in every box -- and likely twice in a lot of boxes. ... There's as second far-rarer Prime card for tail lights (/320 and one in 150 packs), while three memorabilia cards for wardrobe are also in play and they all arrive with fewer cards in the pack making them potentially found without opening all packs. (A risk buying off, say, eBay.) I pulled the rarest wardrobe card here (one in 100 packs), while the others are of Mark Wahlberg as Cade Yeager and Jack Reynor as Shane Dyson (both /1,195 and one in 50 packs). Do the math and that's 11,335 mem cards or a hypothetical maximum number of 5,667 boxes possible ... so assume it's a lower number than that. (And I assumed this is the only format ... it might not be.) The cool part is that there are all kinds of color combos for the Prime card with those flames so there's plenty to look for even if one opted to open a bunch of boxes for set-building. (Wardrobe cards also come with apparently different pieces.) ... I landed this box for about half of what some eBay sellers are trying to get for theirs and did well -- Wahlberg might be a better wardrobe card to find but the only combo that might top this box would be the rarer tail-light card. My price was nice to rip once ... I'm not sure I'd spring more for a box with similar or lesser results likely. I might just look for the hit cards I like instead, though there might be some grading potential here with key names on better-looking cards or the foils. There are also likely some actor appearances who I didn't find here across the four films. All in all, I did well ... there's an outside chance I might do one more if I once again find a good price.
Product Grade: A-
Box Grade: A (only one box could top this for the hit combos)
Fun Grade: B+ (small boxes with a pretty deep set overall ... but guaranteed hits help)
