What's Buzz-worthy: Want a box that's loaded with Rookie Cards and inserts, giving you a hit and plenty of shots at the top new guys in the game? This box is a no-brainer -- but despite that, my NBA 0-fer for Zion Williamson cards this year continues. I got some other notable newcomers in this one, though, and it's interesting that you get almost half of the RCs in the product in a single blaster. There are autos and mem here, too -- something every time -- as well as Orange Laser parallels only found here. I got one rookie there and these might be solid pick-ups if they were somehow built where you land an Orange rookie every time. (This is the only one I have opened so I don't know.) Also only found here are Purple Laster parallels, too, but those are tough pulls limited to only 15 copies apiece, as well as Rated Rookies Signature parallels also only found here -- they'll be big finds, too. My biggest worry about Donruss and Optic stuff last year was the insert lineup, which was heavy on a 1980s vibe with plenty of purple and pink -- they just felt out of place. This year everything feels a little more cohesive while also having some of those touches. Donruss is a basic brand but if you land the right players in the right places even a simple blaster can deliver well. It's worth a rip.
